2007 Ghost Block Estate Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
A beautiful Cabernet. Dark, dry and elegantly structured, it has classic Napa tannins and is nicely trimmed in acidity. The flavors are complex and delicious, suggesting ripe blackberries, black currants and cedar. Drink now-2015." (10/10) According to Wine Spectator: "Up-front ripe plum, wild berry, mineral and dusty, cedary oak flavors have a trace of maturity. Full-bodied and complex, if somewhat simpler on the finish. Drink now through 2016.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits notes of roasted herbs, black currants, loamy soil and underbrush, a generous mouthfeel and the vintage’s tell-tale flamboyance and exuberance. Already drinkable, it should continue to evolve for 10-12 years.
This is one of our highly recommended picks for folks that want one of the best of the vintage without paying a 3-digit price for it. K&L's Trey Beffa says "a group of us from K&L tasted this wine this past February at the Premier Napa Valley Auction. This 2007 is big, rich and dense with a sweet mid-core of fruit and ripe, fleshy tannins. I think this wine will drink well upon release but will even be better with a few years in a cellar." Ghost Block is made at Bonded Winery #9.
