Kuchan Poire William Pear Eau De Vie 375ml

SKU #1053964

From newly established Old World Spirits in local Belmont, CA, Croatian-born master distiller Davorin Kuchan has brought his family tradition of craft spirits to the Bay Area. The pear brandy has a lovely nose that jumps right out of the glass, and the entry is softer than most other fruit eau de vies. The difference according to Kuchan is the yeast he uses during fermentaion - a trade secret he keeps to himself. He also ferments the fruit for over a month, letting the slow process really give the spirit character. The result speaks for itself - these are amazing products that we are very excited to see in our store. (David Driscoll, K&L Spirits Buyer)

I love the Kuchan Poire William Eau De Vie because it is so expressive and full of pear aromas and flavors. When you open the bottle the room fills up with beautiful pear aromas. In the mouth there are pear flavors and a nice dry finish. I would recomend serving the Kuchan Poire at room temperature inorder to enjoy all of its complexity.

United States

- When people consider domestic wine, they normally think about the state of California. The fine viticultural Region within California, including the Napa Valley, Sonoma, Santa Cruz Mountains, Mendocino and Santa Barbara, are capable of growing grapes of world-class quality. But there's plenty of fabulous wine coming from other states, too. Oregon, Washington and New York are also causing eyebrows (and glassware) to be raised around the world.

- With the explosive growth that California's wine industry has seen the past several years, it's easy to view winemaking and grape growing in the Golden State as a recent phenomenon. And while it's true that California's viticultural history is brief compared to several European countries, this state's roots date back well over 200 years. Due to the enormous response to California wine within the United States and worldwide, there are thousands of excellent and diverse wines being produced within the state each year.
