2006 Tor Kenward "Cimarossa Vineyard" Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The sweet tannins and dense ruby/purple hue of the 2006 Tor Cabernet Sauvignon Cimarossa Vineyard give way to a wine with more minerality, full-bodied power, and a civilized personality. There is nothing rustic or astringent in this well-made, complex, earthy 2006. It, too, will drink nicely for two decades. (RP)

Bright ruby. Aromas of blackberry, chocolate, licorice, mint and flowers. Densely packed but juicy, with terrific intensity to the dark fruit and floral flavors. At once sweet and serious cabernet. Finishes chewy and long, with sweet, building tannins. (ST)
One of the SF Chronicle's Top 100 Wines of 2009: "A happy match between winemaker Jeff Ames and Dino Dina's mountainside vineyard. Ames has found a balance of remarkable power and nuance here. Cimarossa's signature cinnamon aroma steps forward on a complex violet-tinged nose. Racy black fruit and cassis coat the palate. Strong and yet precise, it's an outstanding example of how complexity can thrive in the modern Napa profile." (12/09) Only 350 Cases made.
