I was seriously seduced by this Portuguse beauty from the up-and-coming Aletejo region in Portugal, at our last Portugese wine tasting. Aromas of cranberry, earth, tar and spice made for a compelling nose that I couldn't get enough of. The palate showed such an elegant balance of mineral, fruit, acidity, and tannin; though the wine is packed with flavor and earthy spice it is not "big" or overripe at all, but quite restrained, has nice, grippy tannins, and evolves in the glass with air. I suggest trying one now and saving a few for later.
Drink from 2009 to 2016
