2007 Domaine Paul Pernot Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Folatières"
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Pernot’s 2007 Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatieres offers a fascinating and alluring aromatic melange of honeysuckle, orange blossom, nutmeg, cardamom, ginger, and pear. Rich and satiny on the palate, yet preserving primary refreshment and with a lovely sense of lift, it finishes with bitter peach kernel and pear pip, piquant spice, and toasted nuttiness, adding interest and invigoration without halting the impressive flow of sheer ripe fruit. A fresh, pure and expressive nose of spiced floral and pear aromas trimmed in a gentle touch of wood marries into textured, concentrated and mouth coating medium-bodied flavors that culminate in a borderline opulent yet persistent finish. Lovely if very forward.

Bright, pale yellow. Expressive aromas and flavors of orange blossom, peach, nuts and flowers. Displays the supple, pliant side of 2007 and yet this is quite young, even a bit youthfully aggressive, on the broad back end.
Melon, peach and spice notes are punctuated by lemon and bracing acidity. This is firm, compact and mouthwatering on the finish. (Web-2009)
Much more floral than the Garenne, as usual, with rounder flavors, more weight in the mid-palate, and lots of richness. Very pretty, rather forward, and quite lovely!
