2006 Chappellet "Signature" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
**Cellar Selection** Feels instantly special in the mouth, with beautiful tannins that are soft and ripe but complex at the same time. They frame deep, flavors of blackberries, currants, tobacco, dark chocolate, violets, anise and cedar, firmed with minerals. Best 2010–2014.
**Top 100 Wines of 2009 and Highly Recommended** Assertive herb, anise, blackberry and wild berry fruit is tight, firm, tannic and well-structured, picking up depth and length on the finish. Best from 2010 through 2016.

A fabulous buy, the 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Signature offers abundant notes of blueberries, cassis, violets, licorice, and incense. Sweet tannins, an opulent, rich, full-bodied mouthfeel, and a velvety finish make this one of the most impressive 2006s I tasted. It can be drunk now or over the next 15-20 years.

Full ruby-red. Aromas of currant, tobacco, graphite and crushed rock. Sweet, plush and nicely deep, with a silky texture to the flavors of plum, currant and spicecake. Quite sweet, even a bit exotic, for this bottling. Finishes with substantial broad, dusty tannins and plenty of spicy, chocolatey oak.
For more than 30 years, the "Signature" Cabernet Sauvignon has been Chappellet's flagship wine. The 2006 is balanced and graceful while still packing the power of mountain fruit. Freshly-bruised herbs, plum and cherry fruit and a hint of stone carry from the wine's bouquet to its bold palate. Lots of spicy oak lingers on the finish. Enjoy now with some decanting or lay down for a few years.
