Chateau de Laubade Extra Bas Armagnac (750ml)

SKU #1042784 96-100 points Wine Enthusiast

*Top 50 Spirits of 2009* Nosing finds luxuriously mature aromas of old library leather, dried yellow fruit, nougat, cocoa paste, oak, honey, candied orange and even some black pepper. Palate entry is full-weighted, sweet, concentrated, nutty and buttery; midpalate adds rancio, honey, earth and apricot nectar. Concludes sweet, tobacco-like, mildly smoky and marshmallow-like. Flat-out delicious. (10/2009)

K&L Notes

F. Paul Pacult rates Laubade Extra in his top Armagnac of 2010 stating, "One of my two or three all-time favorites from this superb Chateau. While Laubade vintages have regularly gotten raves from me over the years, this carefully crafted blend is the one that haunts me in only positive terms now. Flies in the faces of the armagnac know-it-alls who state emphatically that armagnac vintages always trump armagnac blends. Not so, my bullet-headed chums." Needless to say some of the finest juice out there from Armagnac at any price.
