2005 Reserve de la Comtesse Lalande, Pauillac
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
An attractive and seductive style of wine, the 2005 Réserve de la Comtesse has lots of black currant fruit, earth, spice and a touch of oak. It is easygoing, seductive, and best drunk over the next 7-8 years. (RP)

Bright red-ruby. More flowery than fruity on the nose, with considerable sex appeal. Then refined in the mouth, but with moderate depth of flavor. Suave, easygoing and forward, with expressive flavors of red fruits, minerals and flowers. Finishes with firm, slightly drying tannins. This will give early pleasure.
Floral, blackberry and mineral on the nose. Full-bodied, with supersilky tannins and a pretty finish of mineral and fruit. Very reserved and refined for a second wine. The second wine of Pichon-Longueville-Lalande. Best after 2012. (Web-2008)
It's hard to believe that this is a second wine; it's so elegant and refined. Comprised of 27% Cabernet Sauvignon, 49% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc and 11% Petit Verdot packed with summer fruit on the bouquet: blackberries, plums and strawberries, punctuated by orange blossom and characteristic cedar oak notes. Fine tannins, hints of mineral and wisps of smokiness wrap around the fruit on the palate. A great value from an incredible vintage. Do not miss this. It is their best EVER and great for the cellar!
