2005 Domaine La Barroche "Reserve" Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Has a gorgeous mouthfeel, with a rich, velvety, mouthfilling texture that allows hoisin sauce, Turkish coffee, graphite and dark licorice notes to sail through the country: dense, Lengthy finish. Excellent Grip is well-embedded. Best from 2010 through 2030.
Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
Dark red. Spicy strawberry and raspberry on the nose, with subtle garrigue, anise and dried floral scents adding interest. This is beautifully perfumed and sweet, with silky red fruit flavors and light, dusty tannins. Finishes with gentle grip and a strong echo of strawberry. An utterly classic rendition of Châteauneuf.

The medium-bodied, lightly tannic, soft, silky 2005 Chateauneuf du Pape Reserve’s deep ruby hue is followed by copious quantities of Provencal garrigue, ground pepper, resiny pine forest, sweet cherries and currants. Enjoy it over the next decade.
