2002 Calon-Ségur, St-Estèphe
Fabulous aromas of crushed berries, with cassis and blueberries and hints of spice. Full-bodied and very rich, with a wonderful tannin structure. Long and exotic. (Barrel Tasting).
Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
(the blend is based on 60% cabernet sauvignon) Good saturated medium ruby. Very pure, ripe, floral aromas of black cherry, raspberry, cassis and spices. Juicy, spicy and layered, with strong but well-integrated acidity giving the wine lovely early balance and intensifying its flavors. Broadens out impressively on the back half without losing its shape. Highly promising.
Dark crimson. Succulent and rich and charming. Lots of polish. Good stuff!
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Deep ruby/purple-tinged, this vintage, a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Merlot, is medium-bodied, elegantly-styled with surprisingly sweet tannin, some notes of herbs, plums, black cherries, and currants, a sweet, ripe attack, and a straightforward finish... Anticipated maturity: 2008-2017.
