2004 Melka "Metisse" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
Deep ruby-red. Knockout nose combines blackcurrant, minerals, iron, licorice and leather. Suave, supple and refined; sweet but fresh and nicely delineated. This has a distinctly sophisticated texture for Napa Cabernet. Finishes with sweet, late-arriving tannins and lovely verve and length.
Firm, rich and plush, offering a complex mix of loamy currant, mineral, mocha and dusty berry. Intense, concentrated, focused and balanced, this has a tight, focused aftertaste, with flavors that run deep.
