2004 Poderi San Lazzaro "Grifola" Marche IGT

The Grifola is made with Montepulciano grapes, an increasing popular varietal that is winning awards and accolades and finds some of its best expressions in this area. The Grifola's good structure and elegance results in a fine balance appreciable in the nose and palate. The yield is about half a ton per hectar. After the fermentation the wine is aged in barriques of French oak for about 16 months. A total of 400 cases were produced. This 2004 is a deep ruby red in color with a complex nose showing wild berry and a hint of dark coffee. Excellent body and texture on the palate with a lingering finish. Perfect with bunny!
