2002 Viader Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
At this stage the nose lacks the freshness of the 2001 - it is a little reductive at the moment but this should change. The palate is divine. Sinewy, sappy texture; spicy black fruit with superb acidity. Harmonious and cohesive with more persistency than the 2001. Beautiful poise. This is very classy. Drink from 2007. Tasted November 2004. (Neil Martin's Wine Journal)
Floral grapey aromas fold in with new leather and currant flavors in a sleek, rich, concentrated style that's very Bordeaux-like in its balance and restraint, showing black cherry, herb and tar notes on a long, persistent finish. Tannins are firm and integrated. Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Drink now through 2012.

Good bright ruby-red. Black raspberry, currant and dark chocolate aromas lifted by a floral topnote. Fat and full but quite dry, with currant and blueberry flavors. Finishes with firm, dusty, palate-coating tannins. This is a bit youthfully muscular today; in comparison, the unfinished 2003 is more elegant.
