Laurent-Perrier Brut Champagne
Laurent-Perrier’s dry style is reflected in this crisp, elegant and fine Champagne. The character is mineral, taut, with a great burst of citrus and white fruit acidity. The ensemble creates a delicious food-friendly wine.
Balanced and fresh, with an airy mousse carrying flavors of crunchy pear, piecrust, apricot and ground ginger, all underscored by a hint of smoky mineral. Drink now through 2017. 20,000 cases imported.
Light gold. Aromas of ripe citrus and orchard fruits, with suggestions of green tea and honey in the background. Supple and open-knit, with pliant pear and orange flavors picking up a touch of bitter herbacity with air. Closes on a spicy note, with good energy and a lingering note of white pepper. (JR)
Steering a little more toward yeast than it does to fruitiness, but never giving up to dryness, this straightforward Brut shows a bit of brioche sweetness set atop a slightly citrusy note and more subtle suggestions of minerals. It is continuous without being all that effusive, and only a minor touch of late-arriving coarseness holds it back from higher marks.
Very classic. Tight and citrussy, with good length. Crisp and defined. Cut on Savile Row.
