2013 Olema Sonoma County Chardonnay
Review Date: 08-01-2016
The guys behind the Amici label have done it again! This Olema second label offering, focusing on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, is yet another incredible value. The 2013 vintage was both exceptional and plentiful, leading to some fantastic excess fruit from around California that makes up this year's Olema Chardonnay. Notes of fresh golden apple and citrus fruits, with great acidity and perfect oak balance. Easily our go to Chardonnay this summer!

2010 Tassi Brunello di Montalcino
Review Date: 07-31-2016
Continuing the trend of extraordinary 2010 Brunellos, this Tassi offering is full of dried cherry, blackberry, mocha, clove, smoked meats, and a touch of mint on a surprisingly approachable palate. Incredibly lush and tasty now but will drink well for easily another decade.

Another solid Pinot Noir from Talley Vineyard's value priced lineup. 2013 was kind to this wine, lending plenty of bright, crunchy cherry fruit, a hint of raspberry, and a great earthy finish. Great balance and quite crowd pleasing!

2013 Amici Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Amici Napa Cabernet has been a favorite for quite some time now. The 2013 vintage was superb for cabs in the area and it really shows in the bottling. Blackberry, blueberry, cassis, a touch of vanilla and oak spice. Drinking well now and will reward another 10 years in the cellar.

Another of our recently arrived 2013 Rosso Di Montalcino's, the Sesta Di Sopra almost has more Brunello qualities than Rosso! Wild cherry, vanilla, spice box, and leather all lend to a superbly balanced wine. Drinkable now, but will easily age another five years!

2014 Wines Of Substance Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Review Date: 05-19-2016
Looking back at my notes from the 2013 WOS Cabernet and this new 2014 vintage, the same sentence stood out: "How the hell is this (still) $15?!" Washington has long passed Napa and Sonoma for having the most consistent bang-for-your-buck Cab/Syrah/Merlot wines in the $10-$30 price range, but this offering is just ridiculous. A big and powerful wine overall, this 2014 WOS shows plenty of dark berry and currant fruit, with a smattering spice and toasty French Oak. This is a perfect companion to any backyard BBQ in the months ahead!

Delicious, sub-$20 Cabernet is a tougher find these days, yet the Central Coast finds a way to crank out multiple offerings each year. This Smith & Hook bottle fits the bill, and then some. Big blackberry and black currant fruit dominate alongside vanilla, espresso, chocolate, and sweet oak. Rich, yet never overbearing, this is a crowd-pleasing Cab at a wallet-friendly price!

Cut Spike Nebraska Single Malt Whisky (750ml)

We, along with enough customers (and critics) to quickly sell out the last couple batches, fell in love with the Cut Spike whiskey. The first time we tasted this American Single Malt we were floored. This current bottling is a bit brighter, with great clove, ginger and banana bread spice notes. Grab a bottle while you can! 'Merica!
