Ariston Aspasie "Carte Blanche" Brut Champagne
Review Date: 01-30-2010
Traditional notes of wheat toast, brioche, freshly cut apples and apple skins rise from the glass on lively, persistent bubbles. The palate is beautifully balanced with baked apple, a dusting of brown sugar, and citrus rind all rounded out with a touch of toastiness. A great value in Champagne.

Delirium Tremens Belgian Ale, Belgium (750ml)
Review Date: 12-31-2009
A coworker turned me on to this beer and I have never properly thanked him: Thank you Steve…I love this stuff! It is a Belgium strong ale, but it does not come off strong at all. This “sunshine in a glass” is a cloudy, pale-golden color and the aromas are simply fantastic: apple, citrus, apricot, baking spice, sweet wheat, and bitter yeast. The aromas are mirrored on the round, ample palate, but the leading role in this ensemble of flavor sensations is the Belgium yeast…all three of ‘em. Lovely stuff!

Bellussi Prosecco di Valdobbiadene
Review Date: 07-30-2009
Bellussi is a vineyard in the Valdobbiadene region north of Venice…Prosecco is a late-ripening, delicate white wine grape which is grown extensively in this area. Together they have produced a fresh, crisp, sparkling wine that our Italian wine-buyer calls the “epitome of Prosecco.” I have to agree. This is a very dry, refreshing sparkler with delicate flavors of pear and yellow apple. It is subtle and elegant, but not too soft to be forgettable. Great value!
