Lagavulin 16-year-old Islay Single Malt Whisky 750ml
Review Date: 08-07-2013
For my palate I'm not sure this single malt can be bested around its price point. It carries heavy smoke without being overpowering - and the complexity on the finish begs to know why you would spend more on lesser scotches. A first love for many scotch drinkers, but don't be surprised if you keep coming back to this bottle after you explore the multitude of offerings on the market around this price-point.

Johnnie Walker Blue Blended Scotch Whisky 750ml
Review Date: 08-07-2013
While certainly not a value buy, Johnnie Walker Blue definitely delivers the goods. Undoubtedly smooth with terrific balance of smoke and sweetness this flagship offering from Johnnie Walker can hold its own among the high end scotch offerings. Treat yourself to this iconic bottle!

Glengoyne 21 Year Old Single Malt Whisky 750ml
Review Date: 08-07-2013
For a remarkably low price, this smooth 21 year old single malt is a no-brainer. The finish is subtle yet long with a nice zesty lemon-rind kick that ends with a smoky and buttery finish. As a lesser known producer, Glengoyne certainly delivers maximum value. Try it in a blind test against the big-boys and you'll be surprised.

Macallan 12 year old Single Malt Whisky 750ml
Review Date: 08-07-2013
A beautiful amber color and smoothness on the palate testify to why this is a solid benchmark by which all other 12 year old whiskies can be judged. Toasted pine nut and a rich molasses finish are perfectly balanced against the oak finish which makes this a great sipper either neat or with a light splash of water. A must-have for any home bar.
