2014 Patz & Hall "Dutton Ranch" Russian River Valley Chardonnay
Review Date: 07-27-2016
Patz & Hall does it again! The 2014 Dutton Ranch Chardonnay finds that beautiful balance of richness, structure and freshness. The nose is nutty and rich with honey and white flowers. On the palate, the zippy acidity freshens up the rich characteristics and is complimented with stone fruits and creamy citrus. All this wrapped up with a great price bow on top! This wins is delicious now and definitely has the acidity that will help this Chardonnay cellar well.

2013 Joseph Swan "Kent the Younger" Russian River Valley Chardonnay
Review Date: 03-14-2016
The grapes used in the 2013 “Kent the Younger” are from younger vines in the Ritchie Vineyard, which creates a slightly more modern style wine but also some lively acidity. This Chardonnay was fermented in used oak, allowing the elegant pear, citrus and white flower characteristics to shine. I really love the spicy ginger notes that excite the taste buds. The palate on this Chardonnay has a rich, leesy character, but is balanced with zesty acidity. Delectable now, it will also be a great wine with a little age.

2012 Joseph Swan "Bastoni Vineyard" Russian River Valley Zinfandel
Review Date: 03-14-2016
If you crave the Zinfandels of the past with a little more balance and less alcohol, the 2012 Joseph Swan “Bastoni Vineyard” Zinfandel is made for you! Joseph Swan has only been making a few vintages of Zin from this vineyard, but they know how to showcase the grapes well. This wine has sweet blue fruits with fresh acidity to keep the fruits balanced without being jammy. There is a wonderful savory note to this wine as well as baking spices like nutmeg and white pepper. This is a complex Zinfandel that will complement food well!

San Venanzio Prosecco Valdobbiadene Demi-Long Superiore Brut
Review Date: 02-03-2016
My fellow bubbly drinkers take note! This dry Prosecco is so delicious and a bargain to boot. The bouquet is filled with dried white flowers. The floral qualities carry through onto the palate and as well as peach, apple and lemon pith. The fruits are balanced out with a steely minerality and zesty acid. This pretty bubbly is so tasty that it is almost too easy to drink. I recommend stocking up. I will be!

2013 Mt. Hector Pinot Noir Wairarapa
Review Date: 01-12-2016
Extra! Extra! This is the hottest Pinot Noir deal around! Every time I taste this wine, I can’t believe the price point this is selling for. The 2013 Mt Hector Pinot has layers of complexity and a long finish. The aromas are full of cracked black pepper and dried purple flowers. Flavors of flinty minerality, with an earthy underbrush note, and baking spices add wonderful layers that are not common with Pinots at this price. The palate has mouth watering acidity with juicy black cherries and plum carries on through the finish. Pinot Noirs at this price are usually lacking complexity or not palatable. This is the BEST exception I have ever tasted. I highly recommend buying this by the case before it is gone!

Launois "Quartz" Blanc de Blancs Brut Champagne
Review Date: 02-05-2014
Wow this is a fun Champagne! If you love Launois Champagnes like I do, please note that the “Quartz” is different than their traditional richer style, but equally well made. Zesty acidity with a touch of citrus and white peach livens up your taste buds. This Champagne is light and crisp, yet elegant with notes of soft creamy mousse to balance everything out.

2010 Cantemerle, Haut-Médoc
Review Date: 09-20-2013
For as young as this wine is, it is already showing its great potential. This wine is already displaying elegant floral aromas and blue fruit, with integrated juicy tannins. I look forward to laying down the 2010 Cantemerle for a minimum of 5 years, and enjoying it for many years following!
