2008 Reinisch "Vom Steinfeld" St. Laurent Thermenregion
Review Date: 05-20-2013
balanced acidity, delicate fruit, subtle structure, perfectly aged. this wine is classy and sophisticated, very drinkable. My wife said it is one the best wines she's had in her whole life. the brick red hues in the glass were nice too.

2005 Angelo Negro Barbaresco "Basarin"
Review Date: 10-14-2011
Loved this wine, all subtle and distinct, elegant and bold, seem contradictory? not at all.... wonderful balance of fruit and earth and wood. great with food of course or by itself. Some may prefer the classic dry nebbiolo of Barolo, but Barbaresco is the new king of north italia

2007 Bucklin "Old Hill Ranch" Sonoma Valley Zinfandel (organic)
Review Date: 10-14-2011
Field blend extraordinaire ! this wine has a little bit of everything- fruit, spice, wood, earth, all very well balanced yet bold and structured. This wine has a distinctive character- not that of a wine maker, but of the unbelievable assortment of grapes all growing next to each other for over 100 years in the same field in sonoma. truly outstanding wine. oh, did I forget to mention the soft supple tannins...

2009 Mauritson "Rockpile Ridge Vineyard" Rockpile Zinfandel
Review Date: 08-25-2011
The rockpile area grows some of the ultimate zinfandel grapes in the whole world. austere, bold, age worthy, capable to carry its weight at any poker party, notes of rhubarb, tobacco and clay. pair with filet mignon, spicy grilled prawns, baked potato, and dark chocolate. Or drink alone with bread and dry italian cheese.

2008 Vino Noceto Shenandoah Valley Sangiovese

Vino Noceto vineyards grows sangiovese exclusively and aims to make great food wines. Their grapes are clean and the wine is fresh, lean and dry. think classic chianti rather than super tuscan.

2009 Pollerhof Grüner Veltliner (1L)
Review Date: 06-08-2011
Jug wine from Austria, especially the Weinvertal region, is not something to look down upon. The wine exhibits sincerity and a real sense of purpose that it wants to be the best for the lowest price. In Vienna this type of wine is consumed on a daily basis at bars and cafes, can be purchased on the street from kiosks selling bratwurts and is totally yummy. Try it.

2008 Russiz Superiore Collio Cabernet Franc

Cab franc with an Italian twist. earthy and fruity, velvety with a delicious burn. This wine was perfectly dry to be a great food wine, yet flavorful enough to drink by itself. Bruschetta and pasta bolognese, pizza milanese. benissimo

the terroir of northern italy is in this bottle. we paired it with steelhead trout and asparagus. also bruschetta, heavy on the garlic, not a problem for this white. really nice combination of floral nose and mineral finish. subtle fruit and balanced acidity!

2008 Sesta di Sopra Rosso di Montalcino
Review Date: 01-12-2011
drank this wine over the last week with different pasta and meatloaf dishes. a classic Montalcino, blackest raspberry, black cherry and the dark earthy finish one would expect from the best of the region. kept evolving after opening and got better, revealing subtle spices (vanilla), the good structure kept it all balanced... would not be surprised if this ages well for the next couple years.

2007 Domaine Vocoret Chablis 1er Cru "La Forêt"
Review Date: 01-11-2011
I found this chablis to be closer to california chardonnay than white burgundy. But it is very well balanced in all elements: acidity, oak, and fruit but it has a butteriness on the finish that reminds me of Napa. If that's your thing, buy now, California chardonnay dreams of being like this. easy to pair with salads, crab soup, bread and brie.

Anchor Brewing "Anchor Steam" 12oz
Review Date: 10-20-2010
Anchor Steam is a world renowned ale. Goes great with lunch or dinner or to drink at the ball park. Malty bouquet, wonderful caramel color, fresh hops slowly explode in the mouth without being overbearing, and a lingering finish. I like to say "England meets California" in the way the malt and hops blend together to make a unique yet classic brew. One of my top 5 in the universe.

2009 Anchor Brewing Christmas Ale, California 12oz
Review Date: 10-20-2010
released at thanksgiving to celebrate the winter holidays, Anchor Brewing uses a different recipe each year for its Christmas ale. '09 is a smooth slightly spiced dark ale. Very well balanced compared to prior years, the '09 should be good til late '011 if cellared properly.
