2001 Lanessan, Haut-Médoc
Review Date: 12-31-2011
Lanessan is one of my favorite Haut Medocs, and is consistently a safe bet. The 2001 is a wine with a Bordeaux finesse that may be a touch light for West Coast imbibers of more hearty California cabernets. As it opens, however, the Lanessan, despite its lightness, packs just enough of a punch for me to recommend it, especially at below $20. It is drinking perfectly now, and I would not hold it for too much longer unless in a controlled space, and, even then, do not expect further improvement.
Drink from 2011 to 2011
