2009 Villa Pillo Syrah Toscana
Review Date: 05-15-2012
Refined, elegant, silky with plenty of well integrated fruit. Extremely balanced and not over ripe or jammy as most syrah are these days. This is a fabulous value. Drinks very well now but should have a good future ahead of it. Highly recommended.

2004 Domaine La Roquète Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Review Date: 03-27-2011
Had this on a ski trip to Aspen last weekend. It was a knock out. I still can't believe the price and I bought more of it. Drinking incredible now. Silky smooth and an old-school chateaueuf with a decent amount of fruit but excellent structure. An excellent buy.

2008 Fontanafredda Barbera Piemonte "Briccotondo"
Review Date: 03-27-2011
at $10 this is a deal. At $7 this is just ridiculous. All of the acidity normally associated with Barbera is gone so this wine is just as easy with food as it is on the couch. Great raspberry fruit. My wife had me buy a case so enough said. Not a wine to ponder over as it's tasty but not a single vineyard Barolo. However, at this price you can drink it every day. My wife will.....
