Ruffino, the famous Tuscan producer owned by 2 branches of the Folonari family, has been split up. Half of the property will remain under the Ruffino brand and the other half under the Cabreo label. This is the Cabreo estate and it is one of the last of the 97 Super Tuscans on the Market, 2 Bicchieri Gambero Rosso for this 80% Sangiovese & 20% Cabernet Sauvignon blend. The richness of the 97 vintage softens the tannins and the wine is really drinking well now. Complex fruit, tobacco with a touch of vanillin in the finish make the wine a perfect match for rich red meats or hearty pasta dishes.
