Charles Baur Cremant d 'Alsace

SKU #1011343

Most people outside of the region don't think about Alsace for sparkling wine, and neither did we until Armand Baur popped a bottle of his Cremant d 'Alsace on our last visit. He actually said: "You probably have no interest in this but maybe you would like to try." We said "of course we do," and the rest is history. This beautiful sparkling wine from Alsace is a blend of pinot blanc (40%), auxerrois (40%) and chardonnay (20%). After a second fermentation in bottle, the wine is stored for 24 months before degorgement, as is the tradition with all fine bubbly. This bright and cheery sparkler has a fine bead, rich and creamy texture and an exuberant fruity nose that make it the perfect bottle for parties, weddings or at home as an aperitif or with lighter meals.
