The Glenrothes Distillery was founded in 1879 in Speyside, the heart of the Scottish Highlands and heartland of malt distillation. Their 1991 Single Cask is autumn gold in color with a rich berry fruit aroma accented by hints of vanilla and white chocolate on the nose. Bunnahabhain is a mellow, delicate and highly individual malt Whisky that owes much of its character to the clear water of the Margadale spring and to the distillery's proximity to the sea on the edge of the Sound of Islay. God bless Andrew Symington and Iain Henderson for what they have helped to create at Scotland's smallest distillery. It is also the closest to a working 19th century farm distillery that use to be found all over central Perthshire. Just imagine, huge external worm tubs that condense the vapours form the stills. We were lucky enough to have Willie Tait, the whisky ambassador for Isle of Jura here in our store. It is always such a treat to meet the maker!
