2008 Tessier Cheverny Rouge
Review Date: 8-22-2009
I love this wine! The nose is redolent of Gamay while the palate shows bright Gamay and Pinot with a hint of Cot (Malbec) in the lower register. Wonderful with food now, this wine will improve with a bit of bottle age--if you have the patience. If not, savor it now and ponder how Philippe Tessier can do it for $13.99.

2008 Domaine des Nembrets Denis Barraud Mācon "Source de Plaisirs"
Review Date: 8-21-2009
This lovely Macon combines the best of Burgundy and California, with ripe (but not sweet!) fruit and bright, lively acidity. Not buttery or oaky, but full of fruit, this wine will work well with food or on its own.

Plaisir des Princes Gamay
Review Date: 8-21-2009
From the warm, beautiful department of Vaucluse in Provence, this amazing Gamay shows unusual ripeness and richness for the varietal, with succulent fruit and a lovely, sunny disposition. Try it with anything off the grill, or even a Provencal leg of lamb. Or, just by itself!
