2011 Domaine Desertaux-Ferrand Bourgogne Aligoté
Review Date: 1-31-2013
This is the perfect spring wine, cool and snappy, just like a cold breeze on a sunny day. Cool yellow fruits spiked with citrus and is there a hint of mineral there? There is no need for Crème de Cassis with this.
Price: $12.99
2009 Domaine Desertaux-Ferrand Côte de Nuits-Villages "Les Perrieres"
Review Date: 1-31-2013
This lieu dit is the upper portion of the vineyard from which the Vieilles Vignes is sourced. Just nosing this wine and you can tell this is in a completely different league from the V.V.. It is darker, earthier not nearly as forthcoming. The palate has a nice richness and poise, you can see a little of its neighbor to the North in its character. With both red and dark fruits, but leaning more towards the darkside and its earthiness leaning a little more towards mineral this could be the best Pinot Noir in the shop for about $20.
Price: $21.99
2011 Domaine Desertaux-Ferrand Bourgogne Rouge
Review Date: 1-31-2013
This is no simple Pinot Noir. Bright and snappy with dark red fruits that are laced with a delicate earthiness and just a touch of spice and just enough tannin to keep it from coming across as too light on the palate. This is a go to every-night Pinot.
Price: $12.99
2010 Maison Nicolas Potel Bourgogne Rouge
Review Date: 11-30-2012
Honest everyday Burgundy. Bright fruits, a touch of earth and good acid. Can you find a wine from CA that delivers that?
Price: $11.99
2010 Montirius "Le Clos" Vacqueyras
Review Date: 11-6-2012
Dark, complex, savory, and spicy what more can you ask for? Oh yeah, Biodynamic too.

2011 Pascual Toso Malbec Maipu Valley
Review Date: 10-30-2012
OK, so it is no longer $10. It is better wine than it has been in years! This is not just a soft and simple Malbec, it has structure, complexity and great fruit. A great everyday red for people who want a little something more out of their red wine.
Price: $11.99
2010 Luigi Giusti Visciola 500ml
Review Date: 10-30-2012
This is one of the more unusual products that we carry, red wine that is co-fermented with wild cherries. This falls somewhere between a late harvest Zin and a port in the sweetness level, but for sheer pleasure and drinkability those other wines do not compare. This is a real treat.
Price: $29.99
2010 Château de la Charrière Santenay 1er Cru "Clos Rousseau" Domaine Yves Girardin
Review Date: 9-29-2012
This wine has a lot to offer, but please be patient. Medium light bodied, with driving acidity and modest tannins. The fruit is dazzlingly pure and is peppered with a pleasant earthy notes. It needs some time (in decanter or cellar) to open up.
Price: $23.99
2010 Château de la Charrière Bourgogne Chardonnay Domaine Yves Girardin

2010 Montirius "Garrigues" Vacqueyras
Review Date: 9-29-2012
Everything and more that you would expect from a Vacqueyras. But then this is Montirius, you should expect that.

Jean-Louis Denois Brut "Tradition"
Review Date: 8-31-2012
Champagne in all but name? Aged 18 months on it lees, just like NV Champagne. Made by a wine maker trained in Champagne. Grapes grown, well not in Champagne but that's why we can sell it for $15! Toasty, nutty and dry with just a hint of red berries. Buy this buy the case and drink it every night.
Price: $14.99
Jean-Louis Denois Pinot Noir Brut Rosé
Review Date: 8-31-2012
This is always the first wine from Denois to disappear. Good mouse and great pinot flavor can you ask for more? Yes, and reasonably priced!
Price: $14.99
2011 Domaine Begude Sauvignon Blanc Vin de Pays d'Oc
Review Date: 8-31-2012
Tasted blind you'd think Sancerre? Looking at the receipt you know that it isn't.
Price: $9.99
2011 Rickshaw California Chardonnay
Review Date: 7-31-2012
This is affordable Burgundian inspired CA Chardonnay. Crisp, with lots of apple pear and lemon. No oak. No malo. Not a light and sharp wine, it has some body and a lot of fruit. It is the best of both the old and new world.
Price: $14.99
2010 Château de Saint-Lager Brouilly
Review Date: 7-31-2012
Last year we brought in the Château de Saint-Lager Brouilly for the first time. 2009 Cru Beaujolais, how can you go wrong? Now the real test would be to see what this wine is like in the 2010. This is serious stuff. I have always preferred this Cru because of it aromatics, this wine delivers. Floral and spicy with fruit tones that are surprisingly bright. This vintage packs a little more punch without carrying extra weight. I think I like it even more than the ’09.
