2011 Sesta di Sopra Rosso di Montalcino
Review Date: 1-2-2014
Another of our recently arrived 2011 Rosso Di Montalcino's, the Sesta Di Sopra has more Brunello qualities than any of the others. Wild cherry, vanilla, spice box, and leather all lend to a superbly balanced wine. Drinkable now, but will easily age another five years!

2011 Porter Creek "Old Vine" Russian River Valley Chardonnay
Review Date: 9-3-2013
Porter Creek has really impressed the staff with their fantastic wines across the board. This Chardonnay, traditionally made from the "George's Hill" 30 year old vines, was sourced from a neighboring vineyard in 2011. This is an intense, well structured wine, with bright apple pie and pear alongside sweet oak.

2012 Patton Valley Willamette Valley Pinot Noir Rosé
Review Date: 8-2-2013
A candidate for 'wine of the trip' from Oregon Pinot Camp 2013. Full of fresh strawberry and watermelon fruit, light spice, and impeccable balance, this is an easy warm weather winner.

2010 Qupé "Sawyer Lindquist Vineyard - K&L Selection" Edna Valley Syrah
Review Date: 7-31-2013
I believe that Qupe is at the top of the Central Coast Rhone varietal game and I'm sure the majority of the staff here at K&L will agree with me! We were fortunate enough to visit Bob Lindquist back in February and, along with tasting plenty of his great wines, came away with a co-branded bottle of Syrah. Black cherry, blueberry, mineral, and black pepper spice round out this killer wine for $20!

Bruno Michel "Blanche" Brut Champagne
Review Date: 5-30-2013
Each time the Bruno Michel Blanche retuns to stock the staff becomes a bit giddy to both sell and consume quite a few bottles. Bruno Michel is one of our DI estates that is very, very proud of their meunier and are not afraid to show it. So very complex, this wine shows notes apple, citrus, mineral, toast and balanced all in harmony.

2010 Mount Eden "Wolff Vineyard" Edna Valley Chardonnay
Review Date: 4-30-2013
Although we've brought in less cases than usual during the last couple vintages, this wine has been both a staff and customer favorite for some time. The 2010 makes a strong return with an outstanding wine. Green apple, citrus, and pear dominate the rounder, fruit forward palate that has just enough acid to really keep the fruit in check. This is a very well rounded chardonnay that easily please any wine crowd.

2009 Saarloos & Sons "His" Santa Ynez Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Review Date: 4-1-2013
isit Saarloos & Sons immediately, enough said! We had a great time with the Saarloos brothers as we learned some family history and drank some kick ass wines! Check out the website to watch the great videos from the vineyards and see a really fun side of winemaking. This Cabernet is full of bright red berry fruit, great acid and tanin balance, and will be a delight to drink with family and friends at your next feast!

2010 Qupe "Sawyer Lindquist Vineyard" Edna Valley Grenache
Review Date: 3-28-2013
This is a wine that makes me look forward to summer bbq's! Bright red cherry and raspberry fruit, floral and lightly spicy, with soft peppery spice and tanins. A truly refreshing, low abv red to sip outside with chicken or lamb fresh off the grill.

Elisabeth Goutorbe "Cuvée Eclatante" Brut Champagne
Review Date: 3-28-2013
This Champagne is easily one of our top values. Made up of mostly 2007 fruit, the Pinot Noir really shines. Lots of black cherry with ripe raspberry notes, dry, chalky minerality (as mentioned numerous times), and well rounded acidty really make this an exceptional wine.

2011 Palmina Santa Barbara County Malvasia Bianca
Review Date: 3-21-2013
The Malvasia Bianca from Palmina has an almost unmistakable aroma. So very floral, with notes of lavender, rose, and orange blossom, this wine screams spring/summer sipper. It is very dry, with citrus, peach, and rose hips notes rounded out by great acid and a fresh saline note that will leave your mouth watering.

2012 Palmina Santa Barbara County Pinot Grigio
Review Date: 3-21-2013
All stainless steel, cold fermented, inoculated with Epernnay yeast. Citrus and zesty acidity show up front, with melon and toast adding to the texture. With plenty of grip, this is a serious, American take on a traditional Italian varietal.

2010 Brewer-Clifton "Gnesa" Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay
Review Date: 3-21-2013
This was the Chardonnay that blew us away on our trip to Brewer Clifton. Fresh picked pear and wet limestone aromatics jumped from the glass. Ripe, round flavors of green apple, peach, and lemon were brought back into focus by great acidity. This absolutely sound wine lingered long after the glass was finished.

2010 Brewer-Clifton Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay
Review Date: 3-21-2013
This blend of five different Brewer Clifton vineyards is a great summation of their style. Green apple and tropical fruits abound with bright acid and floral notes bringing all the pieces together. Round and textural on the palate, this is the most approachable and immediately rewarding of Brewer Clifton's chardonnays.

2010 Brewer-Clifton "Mt. Carmel Vineyard" Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay
Review Date: 3-21-2013
This Chardonnay showed a bit brighter and more focused, presenting plenty of ripe stone fruit, citrus, and mineral quality from the clay and limestone soil. This chardonnay, while showing its youth, has plenty of structure and intrigue. Great wine to lay down for a few years.
