2010 Qupé "Sawyer Lindquist Vineyard" Edna Valley Grenache
Review Date: 3-28-2013
This is a wine that makes me look forward to summer bbq's! Bright red cherry and raspberry fruit, floral and lightly spicy, with soft peppery spice and tanins. A truly refreshing, low abv red to sip outside with chicken or lamb fresh off the grill.

2005 Clendenen Family Vineyards "Bricco Buon Natale" Santa Maria Valley Nebbiolo
Review Date: 3-28-2013
This is a dense wine full of dark red fruit, spice, and bright acidity. Even though this Nebbiolo is eight years old, it is truly a baby! Decant now or lay down for a few more years.

2005 Clendenen Family Vineyards "Rancho La Cuna" Santa Maria Valley Syrah/Viognier
Review Date: 3-28-2013
I believe this was a favorite of ours during the big lunch mentioned in Sarah's review as I have a couple "great" check marks next to my notes as well! Lightly floral notes from the Viognier intertwined graciously with masculine gamey and spicy notes on the nose. White pepper, juicy dark fruits, and a bloody mineral streak make for a well structured, dense wine. Fantastic, yet slightly introverted now, this wine will reward patience!

2008 Clendenen Family Vineyards "Le Bon Climat" Santa Maria Valley Chardonnay
Review Date: 3-28-2013
Rich pear, apple, and citrus abound on a very creamy, textural palate that is balanced nicely by some medium acidity. Finishes quite dry, with nice toasty oak notes.

2011 Clendenen Family Vineyards "Mesa Verde Vineyard" Santa Maria Valley Sauvignon Blanc
Review Date: 3-28-2013
Refreshing Sauvignon Blanc for $16! This is quite floral on the nose. The palate is full of citrus and tropical fruits with bright acidity to really bring everything together. Top value.

2007 Palmina Santa Barbara County Nebbiolo
Review Date: 3-28-2013
This is one impressive take on Nebbiolo! Made up mostly of fruit from Sisquoc and Stolpman vineyards, this was aged for three years in used oak and one year in bottle. Plenty of ripe cherry and plum fruits show well alongside vibrant acidity and graphite/mineral notes, all of which is rounded out by well integrated, palate coating tanins. This is a great bottle of wine now, but will definitely reward with a few more years of waiting.

2010 Palmina Santa Barbara County Barbera
Review Date: 3-28-2013
The nose of this Barbera really does knock you back! Ripe red berries, floral notes, and spice carry over to a palate full of brooding raspberry and cherry fruits, cracked pepper, and vibrant acidity. This wine is so fresh and balanced it will have you going back for that one extra glass every time!

Elisabeth Goutorbe "Cuvée Eclatante" Brut Champagne
Review Date: 3-28-2013
This Champagne is easily one of our top values. Made up of mostly 2007 fruit, the Pinot Noir really shines. Lots of black cherry with ripe raspberry notes, dry, chalky minerality (as mentioned numerous times), and well rounded acidty really make this an exceptional wine.

2008 Fromm "La Strada" Pinot Noir Marlborough

We seem to be tasting more and more wonderful Pinot Noirs from New Zealand and this wine is no exception. Great ripe cherry and raspberry notes with well structured acid and oak tannin integration. Drink now!

2011 Palmina Santa Ynez Valley Malvasia Bianca
Review Date: 3-21-2013
The Malvasia Bianca from Palmina has an almost unmistakable aroma. So very floral, with notes of lavender, rose, and orange blossom, this wine screams spring/summer sipper. It is very dry, with citrus, peach, and rose hips notes rounded out by great acid and a fresh saline note that will leave your mouth watering.

2012 Palmina Santa Barbara County Pinot Grigio
Review Date: 3-21-2013
All stainless steel, cold fermented, inoculated with Epernnay yeast. Citrus and zesty acidity show up front, with melon and toast adding to the texture. With plenty of grip, this is a serious, American take on a traditional Italian varietal.

2010 Brewer-Clifton "Sweeney Canyon" Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay
Review Date: 3-21-2013
This is another solid chardonnay from Brewer Clifton with plenty of ripe pear and citrus fruit. The acidity really shows in this wine, which lends plenty of power and focus. Very floral and spicy.

2010 Brewer-Clifton "Gnesa" Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay
Review Date: 3-21-2013
This was the Chardonnay that blew us away on our trip to Brewer Clifton. Fresh picked pear and wet limestone aromatics jumped from the glass. Ripe, round flavors of green apple, peach, and lemon were brought back into focus by great acidity. This absolutely sound wine lingered long after the glass was finished.

2010 Brewer-Clifton Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay
Review Date: 3-21-2013
This blend of five different Brewer Clifton vineyards is a great summation of their style. Green apple and tropical fruits abound with bright acid and floral notes bringing all the pieces together. Round and textural on the palate, this is the most approachable and immediately rewarding of Brewer Clifton's chardonnays.
