2013 Bishop's Peak San Luis Obispo County Chardonnay
Review Date: 4-30-2014
An incredible offering from Talley Vineyard's value priced lineup. This is a very focused and vibrant wine, with fresh Granny Smith apple, vibrant, tangy citrus zest, and a great mineral drive. Ridiculously undervalued $14 Chardonnay!

2012 Bishop's Peak San Luis Obispo Pinot Noir
Review Date: 4-30-2014
Another solid Pinot Noir from Talley Vineyard's value priced lineup. 2012 was kind to this wine, lending plenty of bright, fresh cherry, a hint of raspberry, and a great earthy finish. Great balance and quite crowd pleasing!

2012 Talley Estate Arroyo Grande Chardonnay
Review Date: 4-16-2014
The secret is out: Talley makes incredible wine, and now we can barely keep it on our shelf. Their Chardonnay has been a favorite to sell for parties, weddings, and just about any get-together that needs both a crowd-pleasing wine and a wine that goes the extra mile for the "serious wine drinkers" of the group. Bright apple and mild toast (15% new oak) show on the nose, continuing onto the palate with hints of tropical fruit and mouthwatering acid. Once again, the texture shines in this Chardonnay, which has a creamy palate yet fresh, bright, and clean fruit flavors.

2012 Au Bon Climat Santa Barbara County Chardonnay
Review Date: 4-16-2014
The 2012 Chardonnay from ABC is just unfair to other Chardonnays in the $20 range. Everything is done right with truly impeccable balance; creamy mid palate, texture, citrus and stone fruit, mild toast, and great mineral and acid to really round out the whole package. Serious wine for $20!

2011 Fort Ross "Fort Ross Vineyard" Fort Ross-Seaview Chardonnay
Review Date: 4-16-2014
This wine is made from estate fruit grown in vineyards with an ocean view, giving a hint of salinity among zesty acid, a bright mineral streak, and ripe pear, peach, and citrus flavors. This is classic Sonoma Coast, another serious and balanced Chardonnay offering from Fort Ross!
Top Value!

2011 Limerick Lane Russian River Valley Syrah/Grenache
Review Date: 2-21-2014
This Syrah/Grenache is full of red cherry, pomegranate, red currant, cola, rose hip, and mild smoked meat with a great mineral streak and perfect balance. While it is slightly closed now, it should open up in the next few months and continue to develop over the next eight years. Stunning!

2011 Limerick Lane Russian River Valley Zinfandel
Review Date: 2-17-2014
The Limerick Lane guys have blown us away again! The 2011 Limerick Lane RRV Zin is full of wild berry fruit, spice, and vibrant acidity. This wine is so bright and focused, I'd really place it in the top tier of Zinfandels that we carry. It is truly great wine that should please all palates!

2010 Marietta "Angeli Cuvee" Alexander Valley Red Blend
Review Date: 1-15-2014
The staff has had a great fondness for Marietta wines over the years. The Angeli is their top tier wine and it shows. It is packed with bold black cherry, raspberry, licorice, mocha, cola, and mild sweet oak notes. Despite all the big fruit and 15.4% abv, this cuvee manages to stay extremely well balanced. Bring on the BBQ!

2011 Seven Hills Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Review Date: 1-14-2014
In 2011, Seven Hills made no reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, instead adding much of that wine to their entry-level Columbia Valley Cabernet. This packs quite a punch for $20. The reserve vineyard wine adds a bit of powerful black fruit, hefty mineral, and darker tannins to the already prevalent plum, raspberry, cocoa and fresh herbs. Fruit-forward, yet focused and well-structured, this is a very strong offering from a superbly consistent winery.

A great deal in traditional Rioja, this wine is full of red fruit, spice and earthy undertones. This wine has the structure to last quite a while, yet it is drinking beautifully now. All for $20!
