Tons of red currant and black berry aromas. Very creamy texture, sweet mocha flavor and extremely pure and crisp fruit. Melts in your mouth, and then the tannins - big, but ripe - come through.

Smoky flavors of graphite, slate and minerals, with a sweet core of black berries and red currants. Still firm on the finish. A very good Latour.

2010 DuMol "Eoin" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

The 2010 Eoin Pinot Noir from DuMol shows that classic smoky, grilled meat aroma that grabs your attention right away. In the mouth, this whole cluster pressed Pinot is dense and chewy. Flavors of cinnamon, cloves and red cherry fruit explode from the glass. ABV is still under 14%. Lots of grip, acidity and structure, this wine should age well for 7-10 years.

Amazing wine that is showing well now and will age gracefully for another 10-15 years! It is loaded with black cherry, coco powder, leap pencil and red currant fruit. This wine is rich and lush in the mouth but sits on a firm structure. Tannins are ripe and integrated.

2005 Heitz Cellar "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Classic Martha’s Vineyard aromas and flavors come through this vintage. Still quite young, this wine is seamless and balanced with a fresh lively texture. Tannins are firm and this wine should really flesh out over the next 5-10 years. One for the cellar for sure!

Super-long, with great depth, a plush middle and a ripe, spicy finish. The tannins were fine and well-integrated.

2011 Lafite Rothschild, Pauillac Pre-Arrival

Dark color. Intense on the nose. Tightly wound, deep and super concentrated. A massive wine with huge tannins that’s not showing much for me now. Very focused. I loved ’09 and ’10 out of barrel, but I had never understood this wine in its youth before those two vintages—now I am back to not understanding the wine.

New wave nose, lots of oak, creamy sweet and lush on the mid-palate. Ripe, fleshy tannins and a sweet finish. Loads of fruit and concentration. Lots of stuffing. 92-94 points.

2011 Pape Clément, Pessac-Léognan Pre-Arrival

Inky color, dark and toasty nose. This is very concentrated and layered, with tons of vanilla and spice. Definitely in a flashy style, but I like it. 90-92 points.

2007 MacPhail "Pratt Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

For those of you who like Pinot with a little more kick, this is a big, dark, chewy Pinot Noir that shows aromas of grilled meats, smoke and spice. The fruit is darker and a bit rougher around the edges, with a classic Burgundy cola note.

2005 Rubicon Estate "Cask" Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon

This is 100% cabernet sauvignon that comes from the Chateau and Cohn vineyards, which are both certified organic and have been producing cabernet since 1880. This wine is aged in 500 liter American oak puncheons for 28 months. Even so, this wine is still dominated by the ripe fruit! The American oak adds a creamy, fleshy texture rather then a spicy dill character.
