2011 Ducru-Beaucaillou, St-Julien Pre-Arrival
Review Date: 6-12-2013
Dark and exotic on the nose, then spicy and open, dense and concentrated. Lots of power, plus big powerful tannins that are ripe and almost silky. Long, firm and fleshy on the finish. 93-95 points.

2011 Pétrus, Pomerol Pre-Arrival
Review Date: 6-12-2013
Tons of red currant and black berry aromas. Very creamy texture, sweet mocha flavor and extremely pure and crisp fruit. Melts in your mouth, and then the tannins - big, but ripe - come through.

2009 Ramey "Hyde Vineyard" Carneros Chardonnay
Review Date: 6-5-2013
David Ramey's whites do well with additional bottle age, due to his above average acidity levels. The extra time helps round out and add an extra layer to the wines. The 2009 Hyde Chard is rich, lush and spicy in the mouth, with hints of cinnamon, baked apples and a citrus. This wine is complex and lush without being heavy. This wine is drinking excellent right now and should be enjoyed over the next 5 years.

2011 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac (1.5L) Pre-Arrival
Review Date: 6-3-2013
Spicy, almost exotic mocha aromas in the glass. Dark chocolate, fleshy mid-palate fruit and a velvety texture. This wine is sexy and long-definitely an earlier drinker. This wine should show well on release; it tastes pretty good now.

2011 Latour, Pauillac (3L) Pre-Arrival
Review Date: 5-29-2013
Smoky flavors of graphite, slate and minerals, with a sweet core of black berries and red currants. Still firm on the finish. A very good Latour.

2011 Sojourn Cellars "Rodgers Creek Vinyeard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Review Date: 5-27-2013
The Rodger’s Creek Pinot Noir from Sojourn is the earthiest of the lineup. Classic forest floor, mint and spice linger behind a wall of upfront, ripe red fruits. A solid core of fruit carries this wine through on the finish.

2011 Sojourn Cellars Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Review Date: 5-27-2013
The 2011 Sojourn Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir is a fresh, delicate and lively Pinot Noir that will pair well with food. Not overdone and shows the softer side of Pinot.

2011 Sojourn Cellars "Gap's Crown Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Review Date: 5-27-2013
The “Gap’s Crown” Pinot Noir leans more on the darker side of pinot. Dark purple in color, this wine shows almost a blueberry-like fruit quality, hints of grilled meats, bacon and spice. Although dark in color and flavors, still this wine shows finesse and balance.

2011 Sojourn Cellars "Sangiacomo Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
Review Date: 5-27-2013
The 2011 Sangiacomo Chardonnay was one of the richer of the Chardonnay’s we tasted on the trip. Owner Craig Haserot focuses on mouth feel for his Chardonnay’s. This wine goes through full ML but still only see’s about 30% New Oak. This wine is definitely fleshy and creamy in the mouth. It is loaded with dense, rich fruit, hints of baked pear, figs and green apple. The finish is still bright and fresh, as there is plenty of acidity to carry the wine through.

2010 DuMol "Eoin" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Review Date: 5-27-2013
The 2010 Eoin Pinot Noir from DuMol shows that classic smoky, grilled meat aroma that grabs your attention right away. In the mouth, this whole cluster pressed Pinot is dense and chewy. Flavors of cinnamon, cloves and red cherry fruit explode from the glass. ABV is still under 14%. Lots of grip, acidity and structure, this wine should age well for 7-10 years.

2010 Limerick Lane Sonoma County Zinfandel
Review Date: 5-27-2013
The 2011 Sonoma County is a food friendly wine that shows a briary, fruity character up front, with a fresh and medium body middle, and a spicy finish. This wine is not over extracted or overly fruity but rather in a more balanced style. It’s a perfect Zin to pair with Barbeque chicken or pork.

2011 Ramey Napa Valley Claret
Review Date: 5-27-2013
Not exactly a typical Bordeaux Blend, the 2011 Napa Claret is a blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot, 10% Syrah and 2% Cabernet Franc. The Claret is made in a style to drink right away and to be enjoyed with food. It is a lighter, softer style red that shows lots of spice, sweet herbs and earth. This wine is a nice change of pace and will match well with roasted or grilled chicken.

2009 Jordan Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Review Date: 5-27-2013
The 2009 Cabernet is a blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvingon, 18% Merlot, 5% Petite Verdot and 1% Malbec. For me Jordan Cabernet is usually a wine that can be enjoyed at a very young age. The 2009 shows ripe upfront red cherry fruit, a round, soft, almost creamy mouth feel and followed by hints of vanilla, mint and mocha. This wine is perfect to drink over the next 10 years.
