2009 Sbragia "Wall Vineyard" Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon
Review Date: 11-14-2013
The third wine in a trio of single-vineyard 2009 Cabernet Sauvignons from Sbragia, the 2009 Sbragia “Wall Vineyard” Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon is a structured, broad-shouldered Cabernet Sauvignon with aromas of chocolate-covered cherries, mocha, caramel and tobacco. The palate is dark and brooding, with flavors of plum, eucalyptus, blackberry liqueur and notes of crushed rock and baking chocolate. The wine is supple, with a finish that echoes the palate, and it slowly dissipates on the tongue.

2011 Cambria "Katherine's Vineyard" Santa Maria Valley Chardonnay
Review Date: 10-14-2013
What makes the ideal Chardonnay? For me it has to have notes of exotic tropical fruits, good acidity and verve and lastly a nice touch of rich oak that helps to frame the wine but does not overwhelm the fruit and spice characteristics of the wine. The 2011 Cambria “Katherine’s Vineyard” Santa Maria Valley Chardonnay is just that wine: gorgeous fruit, just the right amount of acid and a rich, buttery hint of oak on the finish-just what you want in an everyday drinking Chardonnay.

2010 St. Clement Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Review Date: 10-9-2013
There was a time when finding a great Napa Cab for under $20 was easy, nowadays after recalibrating for the year 2013 I am on the lookout for a great Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon for under $30. The 2010 St. Clement Cabernet Sauvignon is that wine, deep aromas of black currants, roasted meat, pain grille and rosemary slowly linger from the glass. The palate is a restrained blend of plum, blackberry, dark coffee and spice notes. The palate is dry and long with good energy and verve and the perfect sense of weight. This is a well-crafted Cabernet Sauvignon that harkens back to the classically made wines of the 70s & 80s in Napa Valley.

These guys are doing some great stuff! Exotic nose of Chinese five spice, good fruit, great balance and harmony. Delicious.

Black cherry and cola, hints of chocolate, dark fruits, blackberry liqueur. Great energy, with a finish that goes on and on.
Absolut Elyx Single Estate Vodka 1L
Review Date: 5-23-2013
One of my drinks of choice when I’m out at a bar is vodka rocks with a twist. It is simple and easy to make and generally leaves me hangover free. Usually I opt for Belvedere because it is smooth and easy to drink even though it may lack a truly distinct flavor. When I tasted the Absolut Elyx Vodka I was blown away, it was smooth & rich but had a very clean and distinctive profile with hints of vanilla and hazelnut notes on the finish. A wonderful tasting vodka and an even better value this is perfect on its own or use it as a top-shelf blending ingredient in your next martini or gimlet.
2010 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape Pre-Arrival
Review Date: 4-17-2013
What does greatness cost? In the Rhône it costs $159.99 a bottle. If you want a truly magical experience you can’t go wrong with Clos des Papes; this wine hits on all cylinders.
2011 Léoville-Poyferré, St-Julien Pre-Arrival
Review Date: 5-17-2012
Just call them butter, 'cause they're on a roll! This is the third vintage in a row that Poyferré made one of the best wines of the vintage. This wine is gorgeous, with black cherry, cola and mashed sour blackberries. Layered, with nice length and good fruit. Shows some tannins.
