2011 Rickshaw California Chardonnay
Review Date: 7-31-2012
This is affordable Burgundian inspired CA Chardonnay. Crisp, with lots of apple pear and lemon. No oak. No malo. Not a light and sharp wine, it has some body and a lot of fruit. It is the best of both the old and new world.
Price: $14.99
2010 Château de Saint-Lager Brouilly
Review Date: 7-31-2012
Last year we brought in the Château de Saint-Lager Brouilly for the first time. 2009 Cru Beaujolais, how can you go wrong? Now the real test would be to see what this wine is like in the 2010. This is serious stuff. I have always preferred this Cru because of it aromatics, this wine delivers. Floral and spicy with fruit tones that are surprisingly bright. This vintage packs a little more punch without carrying extra weight. I think I like it even more than the ’09.
Price: $13.99
2011 Patient Cottat "Le Grand Caillou" Sauvignon Blanc
Review Date: 7-31-2012
This wine just gets better and better each vintage. Lots of mineral, friendly fruit tones and crisp acidity.

Michel Dervin Brut Champagne
Review Date: 6-29-2012
Blanc de Noirs for a song! Dried stone fruits, brioche on the nose and palate. Concentrated and very dry this is an under- valued over achieving wine.
Price: $32.99
2009 Mercedes Eguren Cabernet Sauvignon Vino de la Tierra de Castilla
Review Date: 4-25-2012
This is Cab over delivers for the money. It is no medium bodied juicy fruit and nothing else cab. It is medium full, with dark and red fruits, spice, earth and just enough grip to let you know that you are drinking a Cab!
Price: $9.99
2009 Fronton de Oro Tintilla Gran Canaria
Review Date: 2-29-2012
This tends to be wine geek country, the Canary Islands, that is. Tintilla is a wine geek grape but this is not a wine for geeks only. Dark fruit with minerality, spice and good acidity. This is like an island Chinon or tropical Mencia.
Price: $24.99
2009 Antech "Emotion" Cremant de Limoux Brut Rosé
Review Date: 2-28-2012
Always the star of this portfolio. Dry and elegant reasonably priced. Rose every night!
Price: $14.99
2007 Castello di Verduno Barbaresco
Review Date: 11-29-2011
I cannot believe how good this young Barbaresco is! Bright, very aromtic with red fruits, spice, earth and just a hint of something floral. On the Palate the fruit is fresh and vibrant, the tannins are restrained and there is a healthy does of the spice note. You can drink this beauty tonight, it will get better, but I do not know if I'd be able to hold to it for very long.
Price: $44.99
Michel Loriot "Cuvee Reserve" Brut Champagne
Review Date: 11-29-2011
This has become my favorite bargain DI Champagne. Round on the palate with that exotic fruit that you get from Pinot Meunier. It is yeasty in a doughy/cookie way with just a touch of spice.
Price: $29.99
Manabito Kimoto Junmai Ginjo Sake 720ml
Review Date: 10-29-2011
This is what great Sake is all about. A beguiling mixture rich, savory, and earthy flavors that are balanced with ripe, juicy fruits, and vibrant acidity. This is not a sushi/sashimi sake it is a fried chicken, roast, even lentil soup.... this is a sake to change the way that you drink/think about sake.
Price: $46.99

Arran 10 year old Single Island Malt Whisky 750ml
Review Date: 3-29-2011
I often overlook this Single malt; it is easy to do when looking at our shelves, but after trying this recently, no more. This small independently owned distillery is new, just about 15 years old. Their entry level whisky should be in everyone’s liquor cabinet. Medium rich with a great blend of both Bourbon and Sherry barrels; this is a whisky with no edges. It as easygoing and comfortable as a broken-in lay-z-boy. Perfect for kicking back and forgetting about your day, it will not challenge you with its complexity but indulge you with caramel, crème Brule, heather and a touch of apple.
Price: $44.99
Bruno Michel "Blanche" Brut Champagne
Review Date: 2-28-2011
This is one of the best non-vintage bubbles we have. Complex and dry, this does not need a special occasion!
