2011 Beckmen Estate Santa Ynez Sauvignon Blanc
Review Date: 3-19-2013
Biodynamic producer Beckmen is making some really exressive & interesting wines. This Sauvignon Blanc is a great introduction to what they can do. Stainless steel fermenation, with 4-5% neutral oak here. Lime zest, lemon, citrus, mineral, medium plus acidity. Racy & fresh- stock up for spring and summer!

2010 Brewer-Clifton Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir
Review Date: 3-19-2013
This wine is a clear expression of what Santa Rita Hills pinot noir is really all about. It's the coolest growing climate in California, and as a result, the pinot noir is very special. Red cherry, raspberry, cranberry, mineral, with hints of smoke and cedar. Medium plus acidity and medium plus tannin. Enjoy with food & air- I'm thinking grilled salmon in wild greens salad with goat cheese crumbles, dried cranberries and pomegranite seeds. YES!

Price: $34.99

2010 Brewer-Clifton "Mt. Carmel Vineyard" Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay
Review Date: 3-19-2013
The fruit in the Mt. Carmel is from slightly older vines, so this wine has a concentrated richness and broadness on the palate which makes it worth lingering over. Apple, pear, buttery depth with medium plus acidity and great balance. Stem inclusion in fermentation lends interesting texture and structure to the wine.
Price: $49.99
2010 Brewer-Clifton "Gnesa" Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay
Review Date: 3-19-2013
Now I'm not usually a person who drinks Chardonnay (nothing against it, it's just not really my cup of tea), but the "Gnesa" is one I could absolutely enjoy multiple glasses of! I had it on a hot day, sitting in the vineyard in Santa Rita Hills, enjoying a turkey & cheese sandwich with all the fixin's, and the Gnesa was SINGING! Pretty apple, pear, spice, mineral with medium plus acidity and a long, lingering finish. Absolutely delicious!
Price: $44.99
2010 Brewer-Clifton "3-D" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir
Review Date: 3-19-2013
Is this a 3D movie site? Nope! The Davidson family property is the source of this lovely fruit, and when the vineayrds were first planted, there were 3 family members living there. Hence, 3D! Red cherry, red roses, spice, cranberry, wild herbs, mineral, with medium plus acidity and medium plus tannin, textural again mainly because of the stem inclusion during fermentation. Well-balanced, very expressive, elegant and quite special. Drinkable now with food and some air, but tucking this puppy away for 5-10 years will undoubtably bring a wonderful experience later!
