2011 Montirius "La Muse Papilles" Côtes du Rhône
Review Date: 8-20-2013
I am really enjoying the lighter and more charming character of the 2011 red wines from the Cotes du Rhone. Montirius' La Muse Papilles is a perfect example of such a wine. Its' fresh fruit forward flavors are matched with just the right amount of earthy nuance. And no oak influence means that you really get an unadulterated snapshot of what this fresh vintage is all about. Perfect with roast beef sandwiches or roast pork.

2011 Montirius "Perle de Rosée" Vacqueyras Rosé
Review Date: 8-20-2013
Montirius' Perle de Rosée reminds me of a Bandol Rosé; a substantial and serious wine that nonetheless charms the palate with those lovely nunances of sunny south of France fruit. Crushed red berries and mineral nunances make this pink a great vinous choice to pair at your next Provencal inspired meal. Grilled snapper, zucchini and eggplant tian or tuna rillettes with a hunk of baguette work great.

2012 Château Viranel "Tradition" Coteaux du Languedoc Blanc
Review Date: 8-20-2013
Virnel's Coteaux du Languedoc white reminds me of summer in a glass! White nectarines and fresh peach are what immediately come to mind for me. This is a great white to feature at dinner parties where you'll be hosting a variety of winedrinking tastes. Viranel's blanc is juicy enough to satisfy those who enjoy hearter whites, while also fresh enough to please folks who enjoy brighter and more fresh wines.

Jean-Louis Denois Pinot Noir Brut Rosé
Review Date: 8-20-2013
Jean-Louis Denois' latest release of this 100% pinot noir sparkling wine is his best ever. Delicate and dry, with just a hint of red berry nuance and pinot spice, it finishes dry, crisp and clean. It is my go to sparkling rosé.

Bubble heads who really enjoy a brisk and crisp sparkler need look no further. Antech's Brut Nature sparkling wine is vinified with zero dosage, making it quite possibly the most precise and racy sparkling wine on our shelves. 2009 Domaine Girard "Tradition" Côtes de Malepère
Review Date: 3-26-2013
In terms of an everyday go to red, Domaine Girard's Malpere is for me the best the best of all possible worlds. No oak influence translates to fresh, clean cabernet franc and merlot flavors. If you love rhone styled wines and have an appreciation for Bordeaux, then this user friendly red from the hills of the Languedoc will no doubt knock your socks off.
