2013 Saracco Moscato d'Asti
Review Date: 11-5-2014
Mr. Saracco is the toast of the US rappers who sip his Moscato d’Asti at parties and name-check it in their lyrics. Indeed, hip hoppers’ vocal endorsement is credited as being one of the reasons why producers are popping their corks at the growing popularity of this sparkling wine. Since Kanye West’s mention of Moscato d’Asti in the song “Make Her Feel Good” sales have been spiralling upwards. Moscato d’Asti is, like Champagne, from a controlled appellation of origin. Made from Muscat Blanc grapes grown exclusively in Asti, Alessandria and Cuneo, it proudly traces its heritage back to Roman times when it was called Moscatellum. The alcohol content remains low, typically at 5% ABV. This is a great wine to serve for all your spring parties.

2013 Rickshaw California Pinot Noir
Review Date: 11-4-2014
Wow! This is really one of the best Pinot Noirs I've tasted at this price point. The bouquet has notes of plum, dark strawberry, clove, chocolate and earth. On the palate there is beautiful balance, with good acidity, soft tannins and very good length. If you're a fan of Pinot, don't miss this great value.

2010 Cantine Ascheri Barolo
Review Date: 10-29-2014
This wine has a vibrant, ruby red hue, with super intense notes of bing cherry, red licorice, exotic Asian spice and black tea. The oak is present, but very well integrated. On the palate the wine is medium bodied with soft tannin's but no astringency. The streak of acidity pulls it all together into a seamless, utterly gorgeous wine. Could easily hold it's own against Barolos twice it's price. The only draw back to this wine is also an attribute, that being that the tannin structure that makes the wine so appealing now means it's one for the short to mid term, not a 20 year wine. So practice that risotto recipe or score yourself some lamb shank and enjoy al fresco with loved ones.

2013 Castello di Verduno "Basadone" Pelaverga
Review Date: 10-29-2014
I first tried this grape varietal with the 2008 vintage, when I met Mario Andrion (Oenologist) and I soon planed a trip to visit the winery in May of 2010 (www.castellodiverduno.it) they have a great hotel ! Pelaverga has a DOC, in the region of Piedmont in Italy. The small zone has a vineyard area of only eight hectares, and includes the commune of Verduno, as well as parts of the communes of La Morra and Roddi d´Alba in the province of Cuneo. It’s an amazing medium-bodied red, intense fragrant nose, showing spicy overtones with lots of black pepper, as well as fruity sensations reminiscent of black cherries and strawberries. Truly a taste sensation, (I give this a slight chill) and a must try.

2013 Blason Cabernet Franc Isonzo
Review Date: 10-16-2014
It’s back! And as long as I can keep my coworkers at bay, you may be able to buy some for yourself. There is nothing simple about this Cab Franc, it has the classic blueberry, herbaceous plum, and a hint of cola; also a little white pepper on the finish. A staff and consumer favorite for many years now, this is a wine you will want to stock up on.

2012 Tenuta di Sesta Rosso di Montalcino
Review Date: 10-16-2014
This Rosso was aged for one year in 20hl Slovenian oak barrels and unites the imposing structure of Brunello with the freshness and vivacity of a young wine; classic ripe strawberries, cherry-cola, and cranberry with a hint of leather and spice on the finish. This can be drunk young, but will evolve over the next couple of years. WARNING! This is one of those wines that will make you think: how did that bottle empty itself?

2013 Blason Pinot Grigio Isonzo (1L)
Review Date: 10-16-2014
This is a mouthful of Pinot Grigio and a wine that has body and is perfectly balanced with zippy acidity and very aromatic, good complexity, length and that subtle elegance that shows muscle and long and flowing finish. It is a little spicy with red apple and melon, and LOTS of minerals on the aftertaste. The Best P/G they made ( so far) and a liter bottle ( Woohoo ) made for two!

2012 La Monacesca Verdicchio di Matelica (1.5L)
Review Date: 9-24-2014
This 2012 Verdicchio di Matelica, is a very good example for the vintage. Offers crisp and refreshing citric fruit flavors, and aromas with the characteristic touch of green herbs, is a wonderful value, a well-rounded wine, beautifully structured, soft on the palate but with a slight suggestion of almond (typical for Verdicchio), a great autumn sipping wine and is very food-friendly.

2010 La Prevostura "Muntacc" Coste della Sesia Rosso
Review Date: 9-11-2014
There is plenty of fruit, good acidity, soft tannin structure, some minerality and white pepper with a lengthy finish. The combination of blue/dark fruit and the black cherry comes from the Nebbiolo. I also find some tar and roses on the lengthy finish.

2010 La Prevostura Lessona
Review Date: 9-11-2014
The wine’s perfume is pure Nebbiolo: raspberry fruit and dried rose petals with a touch of tobacco and lots of cedar, bursting with sweet fruit, tar, minerals, displaying outstanding depth and fine overall balance. This wine will drink well now and over the next few years, best with the heartiest meats or stews. Better yet, serve after dinner with some great aged cheeses (Pecorino Romano, Parmigiano-Reggiano or Asiago) and an olive tapenade.

2013 Cantina Terlan "Terlaner Classico" Terlano
Review Date: 7-31-2014
This blend of three different grape varieties, grown in the classic district of Terlano (South-Tyrol), is as versatile a wine as you'll find from anywhere, and a seriously good value besides. A blend used quite successfully for over 100 years, this cuvee of Pinot Bianco, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, fermented at controlled temperature in stainless steel vats offers fruity aromatics with light yeasty notes and a taste that is always harmonious though quite strong on the palate and very persistent.

2013 Cantina Terlan Lagrein Rosé Alto Adige
Review Date: 7-31-2014
Spicy and bursting with bright fruit and even a touch of mineral, this is not your everyday pink wine. Hearty enough for food, even red meat, this Lagrein rosé is made by one of the Alto Adige's finest wine producers. It will elicit oohs and ahhs from all of your summertime guests.

2010 Cantina Terlan "Gries" Lagrein
Review Date: 7-31-2014
This Lagrein is made in the Alto Adige. This wine has an elegant perfume, subtle even, with fruit, vanilla and violet notes. On the palate it is a touch austere and quite full bodied, just the thing to match the rustic, rich foods of the mountainous region like lamb with rosemary and hard cheeses.
