2011 Vallevò Trebbiano d'Abruzzo
Review Date: 1-15-2013
the Trebbiano family account for around a third of all white wine in Italy. It is mentioned in over 80 of Italy's DOC’S, although it has just six of its own, (Trebbiano d'Abruzzo, Trebbiano di Aprilia, Trebbiano di Arborea, Trebbiano di Capriano del Colle, Trebbiano di Romagna and Trebbiano Val Trebbia dei Colli Piacentini). This wine has honey and floral aromas, and a little bit of stone fruit on the nose. Crisp, with soft fruit (white peaches) and has incredible length with zippy acidity. All that for under Nine bucks! Serve it with fish, cheeses or pasta in cream sauce or just by itself!
Price: $8.99
2011 Blason Friulano Isonzo
Review Date: 11-27-2012
As most of you know these wines from past vintages let me just put it plain and simple 2011 ROCKS in Friuli! The “Friulano” is medium to full body with ripe pear and red apple on the palate on the finish I find a hint of almond and balanced with crisp acidity. This will work well with ham or hearty soup.
Price: $10.99

Ca de Medici "Terra Calda" Vino Frizzante Rosso Lambrusco

it’s back!!! And Wooohooo. Greg and I discovered this winery at VinItaly many years ago and found the distributor and introduced this to many happy clientele (we sold a lot of this) then it stop coming into California, a very sad day. I missed this Lambrusco, very dry, some cherry cola and lots of spice, the prefect wine for the last days of summer.

Review Date: 6-2-2012
Gundlach Bundschu's Mountain Cuvée combines Merlot, Cab, Malbec, Petit Verdot and Syrah from the Rhinefarm Estate Vineyard in the Sonoma Valley. This Rocks!, on the palate flavors of black cherry and plum and soft floral notes blend with silky tannins, the cab gives this a backbone that you feel and an incredible long finish.

2009 Ferrero Rosso di Montalcino
Review Date: 2-2-2012
This is one of the last of the 2009 Rosso’s, the 2010’s should be coming in a couple months. When I tasted this in February of 2011, I thought it was great and since then it has just come into its own. I think we have save the best for last. This is a user friendly rosso, bright fruit hits you first, black cherries cassis and ripe strawberries and then Tuscany starts to roll across you palate, the terroir takes on the rest of this wine, giving it a long finish that lingers. Needs an hour or so of breathing time.
Price: $15.99

2010 Marco Porello "Camestri" Arneis Roero
Review Date: 7-9-2011
I love Arneis from the Roero, this grape and region get along very well. I have made many friends with this producer over the past few years that K & L has been carrying it. The first thing that hits your tongue is white peaches then lots of mineratily, balanced with a fare amount of acidity and very long finish. This is the main white grape of Piedmont, and is exactly what you want on a warm evening, this wine is at its best when served with the antipasti, stuffed peppers or fettuccini alfredo!
Price: $16.99

2008 Reale "Cardamone" Colli di Salerno
Review Date: 12-9-2010
This is Piedirosso & a little Tintore di Tramonti, it starts off on the nose with raspberry, bacon fat and floral aromas of violets and spicy lavender, followed by a core of pomegranate. The wine finishes with long, soft tannins and hints of thyme and LOTS of white pepper. YUM !
