2010 La Prevostura, Coste della Sesia Rosso Muntacc
Review Date: 9-11-2014
There is plenty of fruit, good acidity, soft tannin structure, some minerality and white pepper with a lengthy finish. The combination of blue/dark fruit and the black cherry comes from the Nebbiolo. I also find some tar and roses on the lengthy finish.

2010 La Prevostura Lessona
Review Date: 9-11-2014
The wine’s perfume is pure Nebbiolo: raspberry fruit and dried rose petals with a touch of tobacco and lots of cedar, bursting with sweet fruit, tar, minerals, displaying outstanding depth and fine overall balance. This wine will drink well now and over the next few years, best with the heartiest meats or stews. Better yet, serve after dinner with some great aged cheeses (Pecorino Romano, Parmigiano-Reggiano or Asiago) and an olive tapenade.

2013 Domaine Cherrier Père & Fils Sancerre
Review Date: 9-10-2014
Citrus aromas. Full on the palate. Tasty bright fruit: peach, citrus, and even a hint of melon. The touch of grassy flavors and pure Sauvignon fruit will give you a great idea of what the Sancerre appellation is all about.

2013 Boniperti "Rosadisera" Nebbiolo Rosato
Review Date: 9-5-2014
Robust Nebbiolo character: a salmon pink color, fascinating aromas of wild mountain strawberries, some floral notes and lots of great acidity, even a touch of mineral on the long-lasting aftertaste. This is a great wine for the brunch crowd. (Really--the wine is a palate refresher.) Or sip some while sitting on the porch with a favorite book.

2010 Oddero Barolo
Review Date: 8-5-2014
From the great 2010 vintage this wine brings aromas of dried cherry and roses, and on the palate you will find raspberries, tar, tobacco, truffle, and a little Langhe dust, with a good tannin structure.

2013 Les Roches Sauvignon Touraine
Review Date: 8-1-2014
We have carried this wine for a couple years now and I have always enjoyed it. The 2013 just came in last week and...wow! The BEST yet! Three stars from Guido. Lots of limestone and flint on the palate, has wonderful length and is food friendly. This would be a great luncheon wine -- maybe baked goat cheese with fines herbs and baguette?

2013 Cantina Terlan "Terlaner Classico" Terlano
Review Date: 7-31-2014
This blend of three different grape varieties, grown in the classic district of Terlano (South-Tyrol), is as versatile a wine as you'll find from anywhere, and a seriously good value besides. A blend used quite successfully for over 100 years, this cuvee of Pinot Bianco, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, fermented at controlled temperature in stainless steel vats offers fruity aromatics with light yeasty notes and a taste that is always harmonious though quite strong on the palate and very persistent.

2012 Remo Farina Valpolicella Ripasso
Review Date: 7-31-2014
Valpolicella has undergone an amazing transformation from the 60s Bolla version with a red-checked tablecloth to the suave and ultra-hip wine region. This ripasso is a midway point between simple and fresh and the power and size of the Amarone taking the best from both. A wine to drink straight from the bottle, with a straw or with roasted rabbit, or complex pasta dishes. Rockin' Ripasso!

2011 Castelfeder "Glener" Pinot Nero Trentino-Alto Adige
Review Date: 7-31-2014
Blauburgunder (Pinot Noir) is a lovely wine. Sweet perfumed cherries, flowers and spices all come together in this harmonious wine. Castelfeder’s Blauburgunder captures an attractive middle ground between the lighter and richer styles of Pinot being made in Alto Adige. If you enjoy European-influenced Pinot with acidity, vibrancy and balance, this will blow you away! Melt some strong cheese, dip some bread and veggies in there, and enjoy with a glass (or a bottle) of Tyrolean red!

2013 Cantina Terlan Pinot Bianco
Review Date: 7-31-2014
This is from a hillside in the town of Terlano in the Alto-Adige, where the soil is sandy, gravely and calcareous. A great place to plant grapes? This is what makes the wines of this region so unique. This Pinot Bianco is full-bodied, delicately fragrant and mildly floral, with ripe honeydew melon and Bartlett pear and lots of minerality, balanced by acidity. This can keep very easily over the next five years, but you will want to drink lots of it these last days of summer.

2013 Cantina Terlan Lagrein Rosé Alto Adige
Review Date: 7-31-2014
Spicy and bursting with bright fruit and even a touch of mineral, this is not your everyday pink wine. Hearty enough for food, even red meat, this Lagrein rosé is made by one of the Alto Adige's finest wine producers. It will elicit oohs and ahhs from all of your summertime guests.

2010 Cantina Terlan "Gries" Lagrein
Review Date: 7-31-2014
This Lagrein is made in the Alto Adige. This wine has an elegant perfume, subtle even, with fruit, vanilla and violet notes. On the palate it is a touch austere and quite full bodied, just the thing to match the rustic, rich foods of the mountainous region like lamb with rosemary and hard cheeses.

2009 Ferrero Brunello di Montalcino
Review Date: 7-10-2014
Big wine, little price!!! Do not let the price make you think that this is a lesser wine. This is a great '09 Brunello that you can open tonight and will drink well over the next couple of years.

2012 Poggiarellino Rosso di Montalcino
Review Date: 7-10-2014
This is drinking GREAT ! right now and will over the next couple of years (but only if you can keep your hands off it and keep some in the cellar). Here is a wine that packs a wallop and lots of bang for your buck all in one! Give this rosso about an hour to open up and stand back, on the palate you will find strawberries and black cherries, a little bitter coco and some toasty oak & vanilla, fine tannins and a hint of Montalcino dust on the long finish.

2009 Baricci Brunello di Montalcino
Review Date: 7-7-2014
So many Brunellis and so little time. This wine is from this extraordinary portion of Montalcino's most famous single vineyard, "Montosoli," and is full of black cherry, cinnamon, anise, cardamom, and leather; spicy, gamey, full of what I call sweet earth, (that Montalcino, dusty minerality) it's a more rustic wine than the one above. I would give this a couple hours of breathing time and drink this over the next couple of years.
