2009 Man Vintners Chenin Blanc Coastal Region

A delicious, tangy chenin blanc with melon and stone fruit aromas and citrus flavors. As mentioned above, it makes a very nice aperitif. At $8 it's a great value.

A memorable red wine with a strong earthy aroma, mineral, raspberry and dark fruit flavors, firm tannins, racy acidity, and a long, spicy finish. Not really a sipping wine; have it with food.

A nice red wine with meaty and dark fruit aromas, and mineral, mocha, and dark fruit flavors. The smell and taste of stone is quite striking.

A rather insipid Sauvignon Blanc, with subdued herbal and mineral notes, and somewhat flat acidity. Perhaps this wine would have been better a year ago? Today it just seemed tired.

A pretty good dry Riesling, although not quite as good as I had anticipated, perhaps due to a surprising and distracting vanilla presence in the wine.

Disappointing. The wine didn't feel balanced and had a gamey aroma that grew stronger over time and overwhelmed the red fruit and spice notes.

A delicious, intense wine with chocolate and spice notes along with dark fruit and green pepper. A blend of "oceanique" (merlot, cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon) and "mediterraneen" (grenache, syrah, malbec) varieties.

This is a very drinkable Sauvignon Blanc with a lot of grapefruit instead of the strong tropical fruit notes often found in other California SBs. Clean and crisp citrus flavors and aromas.

A tasty, minerally wine with zesty acidity, aromas of talc and peach, and citrus and stone flavors. If you are a fan of French Sauvignon Blanc you will like this wine.
