2010 Simonsig Chenin Blanc Stellenbosch

A straightforward sipping wine, with apple and pear, a hint of tropical fruit, and a dash of herbs. Almost not acidic enough for my taste - any less acidity and I might have thought I was drinking a Chardonnay!

Not as complex as the Jasnieres wines, but crisp, earthy as Mr. Manekin noted, and delicious. Sometimes I don't know why I ever drink chenin blanc from anywhere besides the Loir(e).

A delicious sauvignon blanc with citrus and mineral as well as a slightly savory note. A lipsmackingly refreshing wine and a real bargain.

A delicious rose with a raspberry aroma and subtle vanilla flavor tempered by brisk acidity. Flavors are not quite as complex as those of the 2010 Les Vignerons de Fontes Prieure Saint-Hippolyte Languedoc Rose (https://www.klwines.com/detail.asp?sku=1071842), but this is a thoroughly enjoyable wine nonetheless. A definite repeat buy!

A good wine to warm the bones on a cool, rainy night. A well-balanced and fairly light wine considering the almost 14% alcohol. Noticeable tannins, some floral aroma, and dark fruit and spice flavors.

A very crisp Chenin Blanc with plenty of citrus and stone notes. Less voluptuous than its regular Jasnieres counterpart but certainly delicious.

A delicious, zippy chenin blanc with plenty of stone fruit, mineral, and honey aromas that remind me of a Mosel Riesling minus the sweetness. Another great Jasnieres from Pascal Janvier! Can't wait to try the Cuvee Silex as well.

A substantial rose that coats the mouth with fresh fruit flavors and spice, accompanied by a very slight hint of vanilla or butterscotch. Has a definite herbal, almost tobacco-like aroma.
