2010 Te Mata "Awatea" Bordeaux Blend Hawkes Bay New Zealand

Wow. From start to finish, this wine hit every single note we look for in great bordeux blends. The nose is amazing, full of cooking spices, raspberry and blackberry fruit, and cedar notes. The palate is fresh, vibrant and focused, full of red currant and strawberry fruit and an acid/tanin driven backbone giving it astounding balance. Drink now or cellar for a few years. Either way, do not miss this wine!

2011 Te Mata "Elston" Chardonnay Hawkes Bay New Zealand
Review Date: 6-5-2013
The purity of the peach, pineapple, and green apple fruit next to the racy mineral undertones really made this Chardonnay stand out. Great oak use as well lends some nice notes of vanilla and toast. This chardonnay has the structure and depth to keep going for quite a few years!

2011 Banshee Sonoma County Pinot Noir

This is a powerful wine from a range of vineyards in Sonoma. Raspberry, blackberry, black cherry, and cola blend with earthy characteristics and lush tanins to make a bold, easy drinking wine. This is an absolute crowd pleaser!

Bruno Michel "Blanche" Brut Champagne

Each time the Bruno Michel Blanche retuns to stock the staff becomes a bit giddy to both sell and consume quite a few bottles. Bruno Michel is one of our DI estates that is very, very proud of their meunier and are not afraid to show it. So very complex, this wine shows notes apple, citrus, mineral,toast and balanced all in harmony.

2010 Maison Jacques Bavard Auxey-Duresses Rouge

The wines from Jacques Bavard are no longer a secret to the majority of our customers. The quality for the price of his Burgundian expressions is extremely tough to beat. This is a bright and focused Pinot with great red cherry and barrel spice notes. As mentioned, it is approachable now but will reward patientice.

2011 Domaine Paul Pernot Bourgogne Chardonnay

The 2010 vintage of this wine was well received by both customers and staff and the 2011 is shaping up to be the perfect follow up. The bright green apple and focued mineral notes return to make a straight forward wine that will compliment a variety of quick mid week meals and impress the guests during weekend parties!

2007 Viña Eguía Reserva Rioja

Add the Vina Eguia Reserva Rioja to the long, long list of fantastic deals from Spain. Drinking perfectly now, this wine has the leather and tobacco notes of an older Rioja while maintaining a youthful balance thanks to the acid. Black cherry, raspberry, and cola notes complement dried herbs, vanilla, and a hint of menthol on the finish. This is a delicious wine for your next bbq.

2010 Mount Eden "Wolff Vineyard" Edna Valley Chardonnay

Although we've brought in less cases than usual during the last couple vintages, this wine has been both a staff and customer favorite for some time. The 2010 makes a strong return with an outstanding wine. Green apple, citrus, and pear dominate the rounder, fruit forward palate that has just enough acid to really keep the fruit in check. This is a very well rounded chardonnay that easily please any wine crowd.

2011 Mt. Beautiful Pinot Noir Cheviot Hills New Zealand

This is a great new Pinot from an up and coming area in New Zealand! Bright raspberry, black cherry, and great wood spice and tanins. Absolutely delicious and drinking well right now. All for $20 makes this wine tough to pass up!

2010 Saarloos & Sons "Hers" Santa Ynez Valley Grenache Blanc

Visit Saarloos & Sons immediately, enough said! We had a great time with the Saarloos brothers as we learned some family history and drank some kick ass wines! Check out the website to watch the great videos from the vineyards and see a really fun side of winemaking. This Grenache Blanc was a great wine, round and fresh with pear and citrus and acidity lending great balance to the wine.

2010 Fromm Winery "La Strada" Pinot Noir Marlborough New Zealand

After selling a few bottles of the '08 over the last couple months, I was pleased to finally try the 2010. It did not disappoint! Black fruit, spice box, earthy and floral notes, and a solid, lingering finish makes for quite the drinking experience for $22. Do not miss out on these bottles!

2010 Tablas Creek "Esprit de Beaucastel Rouge" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Review Date: 4-1-2013
45% Mourvedre, 30% grenache, 21% syrah and 4% counoise.
Spicy, floral perfumed nose. White pepper, mineral, blackberry, tar, and leather notes on the palate are finished with nice firm tanins on the back end. This is a big wine with plenty of depth and structure. Delicious!

2009 Tablas Creek "Esprit de Beaucastel" Paso Robles White Rhône Blend (375ml)

60% Roussane/ 35% Grenache Blanc/ 5% Picpoul Blanc makes up this years blend. This wine is very floral and rich on the nose, with plenty of dense pear, nectarine, orange zest, and apricot flavors with a nice weighty texture. Big and bold but so fresh and bright, this is a fantastic wine as always.

2010 Ancient Peaks Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon

This is easily one of our best domestic Cabernet Sauvignon deals in the store. Plenty of black currant, blackberry, and vanilla flavors with nice acid and tanin from quite an amazing vineyard. Great texture with plenty of depth and structure very uncommon at this price.
