2007 Fontanafredda Barbera Piemonte "Briccotondo"

Don't understand the high marks for this wine. This is a chalky, cheap, Italian wine. I found it near undrinkable, even with food. I guess they buy ads in Wine Spectator.
1998 Lopez de Heredia "Viña Tondonia" Gran Reserva Rosado Rioja

Calling this wine "unique" does not give it justice. This is an unheard of aged rose. The bouquet hints of sweetness, but this wine is quite dry on the palate. Definitely worth a try.

2008 Melville "Estate-Verna's" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir

Best for the price Pinot now in release. Light bodied, but with excellent structure and delightful bright fruit. At $20 an excellent buy.

2003 Guiraud, Sauternes (375ml)

An OK vintage for this excellent property. Lacks the bright tell tale acidity which highlights top years for Guiraud (2006 in particular). Nice notes of honeysuckle and apricot.
