2010 Zolo "Reserve" Cabernet Sauvignon Mendoza
Review Date: 2-4-2013
Zolo Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon comes from some selected vineyard sites 1,300 meters above sea level. The dry weather and the wide swing of temperatures between day and night have created its distinctive micro climates, which result in wines that are typically rich in color and ideal for aging. Also, each of these terroirs provides a different expression of fruit and varietal concentration. Crushed violets, chocolate and leather on the nose. Black and blue fruits on the palate. A nice grip of tannins for a nice long finish. Perfect wine for steak night!

Fluteau "Cuvee Reserve" Brut Champagne
Review Date: 10-26-2012
One of the hits for me at our Champagne event was Fluteau! I love the cheesy and toasty notes that come from this champagne. Coming from the wine being left to age on the lees for three years. Notes of citrus and spice in a golden yellow hue. This will make a perfect Holiday wine! At this price you can give it out to all the family. This is a Champagne will are talking about here folks.

2011 Matetic "EQ" Coastal Sauvignon Blanc Casablanca Valley
Review Date: 10-15-2012
Classic Chilean Sauvignon Blanc. The nose hit's you with array of beautiful notes of lime, grapefruit, jalapeno peppers and fresh cut grass. The mouth feel has some nice weight to it. Good acidity and a little salinity probably from being so close to the coast. Great mixture of tropical and stone fruits. Minerality on the finish, which makes it a perfect pairing for any fresh seafood. Equilibrium is the great name for this wine in taste and price!

2010 Windrun San Luis Obispo County Pinot Noir

Ken Brown is one of my favorite wine makers in Santa Barbara County! Love the balance of fruit and acidity that he creates in the cellar. Limited number of case made. From some of the best sourced fruit in Santa Barbara County! Two words lush and rich come to mind!

2000 Marques de la Concordia Crianza Rioja
Review Date: 9-30-2012
This is a modern style Rioja. Which in turn gives it that ripe New World fruit flavors. But, my main thing about this wine is it has some time in bottle. It is a rare thing anymore to find a good price wine with some bottle age. So with that New World fruit flavours combined with a savoury note and high acidity, which is more typical of the wines of the region. This really gives you some insight into the evolution of a Rioja wine.

2006 Cellers Ripoll Sans "Closa Batllet" Gratallops Priorat
Review Date: 8-31-2012
Priorat is a very intriguing region. Perfect in every way for wine making! Cellers Ripoll Sans Closa Batllet Gratallops was established in 2000 when Marc Ripoll, a young man in his early twenties, came back to restore his family's winery. Now for the wine it self. One, it is always nice to have some bottle age since I can never wait more than twenty minutes before I open the wine. Great floral and spice on the nose. Dark berry and cassis on the palate. Firm but smooth tannins. Long lasting finish. This wine will not disappoint. One of my favorite blends of the year!

2011 Zilliken "Butterfly" Saarburger Riesling
Review Date: 6-30-2012
I am going to say it. I think Riesling is the perfect food wine. It can pair with so many dishes. I found this one at a tasting recently. Zilliken family have been producing wine in the Saar region for more than 250 years. So beautifully balanced it will pick up any dish that you are cooking. It is that great, racy acidity that you cannot find anywhere other than Germany.

I am Over hopped beer's. Enough already! So, when I open up the 21st Amendment's Bitter APA I was not expecting much. Nice burst of citrus in the beginning. Well balanced hop's and malt. A great bitter finish. One more bonus 4.4 percent ABV. So I can have more than one.
