1986 Talbot, St-Julien (high shoulder fill) (out of stock)

Highlight of the night, that also included a 1982 Branaire Ducru and 74 Mouton!!! This was the best Talbot I have tasted, The tannins were polished and perfect, tons of cassis, pepper, black jammy fruit. Exceptional mid palate that transitions into a lengthy finish! Parker was right on, I gave this a 95+

2006 Jacob's Creek Steingarten Riesling Barossa Valley (out of stock)

Just tasted this over the holidays and it is drinking really well, and closer to a $30 Riesling. Very clean peach florals, apple on the nose with rubber and petrol on the palate. I agree with Gary, this is still a baby and has the structure to go 10+ years! I think the previous reviewer either had a bad bottle or hasn't developed the palate or skill set to review wine! Glad I picked up half a case for 9 dollars...Thanks K&L

2006 Sequoia Grove Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

This is the second time I have encountered this lovely Cab from Napa. The first time being on my honeymoon tasting adventure back in April when I got to taste at S.Grove (purchased a couple bottles for the cellar). Great balance and structure, polished tannins, very drinkable Cab without being in your face like so many heavy hitters from Napa. 06 was a mercurial year, but a vintage that is drinking well right now. A real bargain for under $30.00.......salute!

This was more of an afterthought, but the wife is doing up some carne asada steak so I thought what the heck. Nice espresso nose, dark fruit, earth, spice, black olives, polished and smooth start to finish. I used my Vinturi to speed things along! TH 90

2007 Etude Carneros Pinot Noir (out of stock)

First time with this Etude; it was from one of my April shipments and I was pleasantly surprised. Having an admitted love affair with Oregon Pinot's, it takes something special to impress me (from other regions) and this Etude was really smooth and complex. Dark cherry and berries, earth notes and good structure. I finished off the bottle tonight and it took on a slightly bolder structure finishing with some nice spice and smoke! I am a big fan of Etude (multiple 05 cabernet's in my cellar) and their 2007 Carneros Pinot offering was delightful!

2005 Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

I first had the privilege of tasting this Cab as a wedding gift this year and I was delighted! So much so that on my honeymoon I picked up two more bottles and some free glasses thanks to their tasting room. I love the fact that Silver Oak remains true to their calling....they are no nonsense and their 2005 is no different. It is what it is, a terrific wine that would take top billing on most dinner tables or tasting rooms!

This is one of my favorite Pinot table wines from Oregon! You can usually find it at most fine supermarkets and for the price you can't beat it! Nice citrus, pears, hints of petrol and grapefruit. Drink freely on a nice summer day or with your favorite seafood pairing!

2007 Adelsheim Willamette Valley Pinot Noir (out of stock)

Light red in color, this Oregon Pinot at first taste feels young and early but as it opens up, black cherry, blackberry, soft leather, spice come through nicely. Very easy tannins with a light pepper finish this is a delightful Pinot Noir and would go nicely with most meals. Although this Adelsheim isn't an award winner by any means, it can more than hold its own verse the heavy hitters from the historic Willamette Valley!
