2011 J Vineyards California Pinot Gris

Although not as good as the lovely 2010, this is still a lovely versatile wine and we have continued to enjoy it daily.

A lovely soft Zinfandel, well within the Rosenblum tradition.

2004 Columbia Crest "Walter Clore" Columbia Valley Red

Excellent claret, well within the glorious Walter Clore Private Reserve tradition. Worth at least twice its price. Parker says to wait until 2012 but he has more self-control than I do. This is elegant wine and a steal at the price.

2007 Bodegas Ateca Old Vines Garnacha "Atteca" Calatayud

Lovely fruity wine with a touch of class. Shows what the Garnacha grape is capable of in good hands. Drank well with filet mignon and baked russets. A bargain at this price!

2006 Château Viranel "Tradition" Saint Chinian Rouge

A very good little wine, with no pretensions to amuse you, that goes well with food. An initial burning match (burning brown paper?) nose eventually dissipates and gives way to an attractive fruitiness. This wine went well with a spiced and hot pasta e vongole and would probably go well with many things. I don't see "traditions" on the label, so I hope I got the right wine. I would buy more at such a reasonable price.

2007 Franck Millet Sancerre Rouge

Thin and watery and not engaging. I was disappointed given the laudatory presentation of this wine on the front page of the most recent K and L wine bulletin. It makes me wonder about K and L wine tastes.
