Toffee, vanilla, smooth and sweet. Strongly agree with Susan's review. However, the ethereal nose makes it feels more like a cognac than a rum. Drink on the rocks or with coke. 4.5 stars, but 3.5 for the price.

2005 Columbia Crest "Walter Clore - Private Reserve" Columbia Valley Bordeaux Blend

Tasted in Washington. Full body, creamy, raspberry, big vanilla, bitter cacao, and long finish. There is also a hint of herbal. I wouldn't say tannins are "velvety" but they are not super harsh either. Reviews generally agree on about 5 years of cellar til peak, but I think 7-10 years is worth a try at this price.

First review ever, since the stuff I see here are usually sold too fast or won't come out of my cellar for years. Anyways, the wine is solid and versatile daily drinker; Medium body, sour cherry, spicy, some dark chocolate too. I only hope the 2007 will be as good.
