2012 Jean Perrier et Fils Vin de Savoie-Abymes
Review Date: 7-27-2014
This lovely white from the Savoie Region of France pours a pretty golden hue, like a glass of sunshine (I'm not kidding). The nose offers soft floral and lemon zest. The palate is silky yet balanced with bright acidity, and is pleasantly full of lemon oil and ripe pear & pear skin. With a clean, fresh finish, it'll go fantastically with summer salads, seafood, and creamy cheeses.

2013 TWR (Te Whare Ra) Chardonnay Marlborough
Review Date: 7-18-2014
It takes a lot for a Chardonnay to make my toes curl, and this one does! This New Zealander begins with buttery musk, dried stone fruit, and has a creamy smooth mid-palate. It's followed by a mineral driven chalky finish...what's not to adore?

2009 Hermanuspietersfontein (HPF) "Die Arnoldus" Bordeaux Blend Sondagskloof
Review Date: 7-18-2014
My oh my oh my.....how I love this wine. A Bordeaux blend from South Africa, this vino beholds all 5 grape varietals. It pours the color of oxblood and has legs that would rival Tina Turner's. The nose explodes with green and black olives brined with wild savory herbs. The mid-palate is richly textured yet grippy, and full of black currant and black cherry skin. The smokey, saline, spicy finish goes on and on. Absolutely marvelous!

This is your summer party Zinfandel! This one bursts right out of the glass with ripe black cherry, blackberry and mocha. On the palate, there's plenty of rich texture and a bit of spice....this will stand up to your heartiest BBQ fare. Stock up--your friends will thank you!

2011 Clos Pegase "Mitsuko's Vineyard" Carneros Chardonnay
Review Date: 7-3-2014
Chardonnay lovers, listen up. This bright, tropical Chard will keep you cool and quenched during the warm summer evenings. It's drenched in pineapple, a hint of coconut (from the oak), and zingy stone fruit. This would pair dreamily with grilled peaches!

2012 Villa Pillo Sangiovese Toscana (3L Bag-in-a-Box) (cannot ship)
Review Date: 3-24-2014
I bought this 3L box of Sangiovese to take with me on a recent camping trip. (I also bought our GoVino plastic stemless wine glasses to go with it....a perfect match). I was so pleased with how good this wine was! Fresh, tart cherry, floral aspects and an earthy balanced finish. And when camping, no glass bottles to knock over into the fire :) Of course, this box of joy isn't restricted to being enjoyed in the Great Outdoors. It's a fantastic party wine, something to bring to the BBQ, or just simply to have on hand. It'll keep for a couple months (the plastic bladder the wine is kept in is airtight), so it's great if you just want a glass of red without worrying about having to finish a whole bottle. So versatile!

2002 Daniel Ginsburg "Cuvee Prestige Louis XVII" Brut Champagne
Review Date: 2-5-2014
This Champagne is made exclusively from fruit grown in the Grand Cru of Ay and is comprised of 50% Pinot Noir & 50% Chardonnay. It's savory with leesy, buttery brioche flavors that are well matched with zingy, tart guava notes. There's so much complexity in this bottle! It's delicious and so satisfying. I want this with my next brunch spread when I have guests over....Mushroom & herb frittata, sizzling black forest bacon, crispy hash browns, and assorted olives. Turbo Yum.

2012 Patient Cottat "Le Grand Caillou" Sauvignon Blanc
Review Date: 1-30-2014
This is the white wine that I always keep stocked in my fridge. Bright, fresh citrus peels (grapefruit & lime) lead into a bracing minerality that ends with a wonderfully dry, crushed wet-rock finish. I love this wine (and it's an absolute steal).

2011 Sylvain Gaudron Vouvray Demi-Sec
Review Date: 1-22-2014
This Vouvray is so pretty on the nose with candied cherries, peaches and cream. The palate is fresh, yet rich, and finishes with an acidity that prevents any cloying character. Highly aromatic, this Vouvray would sing with spicy Thai food!

2012 Chakana "Maipe Reserve" Malbec Mendoza
Review Date: 11-18-2013
What a lovely, plush Malbec! Full bodied with a mega-ton of blackberries and blueberries, a soft cocoa/white chocolate mid-palate, finishing with a bit of pepper spice and a wee zing of minerality on the very end. This would pair so very well with your favorite comfort food. Examples? Pizza with roasted peppers and spicy sausage, or grilled cheese with tomato soup would be so very nice with this vino.

Guillaumette L'Authentique Génépi 375ml
Review Date: 11-7-2013
First, a bit of background: "This is traditional recipe from Thomas Bernard-Reymond's Grand Father. Thomas hand picks the flowers from the Ecrin National Park, one of the few producers permitted to do so. He produces two tiny batches each year and has specifically decided to remain true to the original recipe rather than expand at the expense of quality. This is truly one of the highest quality alpine liqueurs available on the market. Only 5500 liters are produced annually." This is one of the most complex and delicious liqueurs that I've ever had! It's floral with notes of lavender, herbal with rosemary and spearmint, and viscous and nectar-like with out being cloying on the finish (not even a little...). There's a sprig of wormwood twig in each bottle to keep every thing happy. Addictive!

2011 Hazana "Tradicion" Rioja
Review Date: 11-7-2013
This awesomely priced Rioja is a blend of 85% Tempranillo and 15% Graciano, and comes from 20-40-year-old head-pruned vines. It's full of dried cherry, savory earth, and sweet tobacco leaf. It's a great Rioja at an incredible value!

2009 Bodegas Muga "Selección Especial" Reserva Rioja
Review Date: 11-7-2013
Incredibly delicious Rioja! This Spanish beauty is super silky on the palate and is full of black cherries, dried herbs, and soft cedar. The finish is earthy with a leathery grip that lingers with a light minerality. A perfect wine to compliment your holiday feast or simply to sip on a cool evening.

2011 Allimant-Laugner Riesling "Praelatenberg" Grand Cru
Review Date: 10-19-2013
This Alsacian Riesling is a beautiful balance between sticky sweet and clean dry. It sounds impossible, but in this case, it's true. On the front, the flavors of honeysuckle, grilled pineapples/peaches, and white flowers come together in a concentrated punch. If it ended there, the wine would be cloying and over the top. But, the finish is clean with the flavors of minerals and crushed rocks....almost chalky. This would be perfect with any spicy dish or as a sipper after dinner.
