2012 Rancho Zabaco "Heritage Vines" Sonoma County Zinfandel
Review Date: 1-14-2014
Every now and then you get a $10 bottle of wine that surprises you. The 2012 Rancho Zabaco Heritage was a pleasant surprise for me. This is a big, opulent red wine with in-your-face ripeness. The surprise for me was the lovely spice, backbone and complete dryness of the wine, which for the $9.99 price was a real shock. Weekend BBQ, steak dinner or just a glass after work--this wine will please the California Zinfandel fan.
2011 Chalone Vineyard Monterey County Pinot Noir
Review Date: 12-2-2013
A solid effort from Chalone. This wine is a straight forward Pinot Noir with predominately concentrated red fruit with hints of blue fruit, spice, cola, cedar and cocoa. A good everyday wine at a great price.
2010 Dunn Vineyards Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Review Date: 11-19-2013
A wine of beauty and class. This Dunn Napa is a wine for now and later. Will open up with an hour in a decanter, showing a beautiful nose of plum, lavender and cedar. The mid palate explodes with generous plum, cassis, spice and of course the mineral streak that runs throughout. The wine is beautiful, as all Dunn are, and should be part of your short or long term cellar.
2012 Charles Smith "Kung Fu Girl" Evergreen Columbia Valley Riesling
Review Date: 10-30-2013
Made by Charles Smith Wines out of Washington, this is always a customer favorite. This is the Riesling that makes every Asian meal better. A beautifully balanced Riesling in the off-dry style. A wine with juicy citrus fruit and great acidity. This wine is priced to try.
2010 Chateau St. Jean Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Review Date: 10-17-2013
Can't hope for a more solid wine than this at the price. A great representation of Alexander Valley Cabernet at it's best. Shows large amounts of red fruit with generous hints of plum, cedar, licorice and tobacco. The wine is forward and approachable with soft, ripe tannin.
2010 Clos du Val Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Review Date: 9-16-2013
Can you get any better than this Cabernet Sauvignon under $ 25.00. Not many from Napa Valley. A legendary producer in the Napa Valley, the vineyard is still making precise, balanced wines at a great price. This 2010 Cabernet is full of dark fruit, spice, cedar and just a hint of red fruit and chocolate. Tasty.
2009 White Rock Napa Valley Claret
Review Date: 9-16-2013
Pound for pound there is not much better than this. A beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon based wine with incredible layers of flavor. Soft, yet structured, with great balance. This is a California wine with a Bordeaux feel. Lots of leather, spice, tobacco and minerality to go along with it's lush black fruit.
Campeňn K&L Exclusive Blanco Tequila 750ml
Review Date: 9-1-2013
I love tequila but tend to drink Reposado. This Blanco, made exclusively for K&L, is a treat. Pure and clean with hints of citrus and spice. The finish of pepper and spice is something truly special, that you don't get from most of the blanco in this market. Great for blending but much better just sipping. Get it while you can.
Nicolas Feuillatte Brut Réserve Champagne

This champagne house has always produced quality, easy sipping champagne. Ripe apple and pear with a hint of yeast. A great glass.
Deligeroy Cremant de Loire Brut

A delightful sparkler for $ 11.99. Chenin Blanc and chardonnay combine for lovely aromatics and lovely freshness on the palate. A treat for the price.
