Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Paul Hobbs "Hyde Vineyard" Carneros Pinot Noir (92ST, 90RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Dark ruby. Slowly opens up to display scents of dark berries, cherry-cola and mocha, with a brooding note of licorice in the background. Chewy and densely packed, with intense dark fruit flavors that are brightened by sneaky minerality. Shows very good energy on the finish, which leaves smoky cherry and black raspberry notes behind. This wine will definitely benefit from decanting if you plan on drinking it any time soon. 92(+?) points" (06/2013)

Plush tannins and an even mouthfeel full cherry, plum and cocoa flavors, and this impressive first release finishes long and dry. Appealing now, but has tannins to lose, should be even better in two years and hold until 2008." (12/2001)

2012 Littorai "Savoy Vineyard" Anderson Valley Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Littorai "Savoy Vineyard" Anderson Valley Pinot Noir (92AG, 89ST). Antonio Galloni: "The 2012 Pinot Noir Savoy Vineyard is quite powerful and intense today, with a gorgeous interplay of fruit, acidity and tannin. Game, smoke, sweet red cherries, menthol and tobacco open up in the glass, but the Savoy is mostly a wine of texture backed up by considerable energy and power. 2001 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of the 2001 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Beaucastel has been on a terrific qualitative roll over the last four vintages, and the 2001 Chateauneuf du Pape (which Francois Perrin feels is similar to the 1990, although I don’t see that as of yet) is a 15,000-case blend of 30% Grenache, 30% Mourvedre, 10% Syrah, 10% Counoise, and the balance split among the other permitted varietals of the appellation. This inky/ruby/purple-colored cuvee offers a classic Beaucastel bouquet of new saddle leather, cigar smoke, roasted herbs, black truffles, underbrush, and blackberry as well as cherry fruit. It is a superb, earthy expression of this Mourvedre-dominated cuvee. Full-bodied and powerful, it will undoubtedly close down over the next several years, not to re-emerge for 7-8 years. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2025. (RP)"

1991 Opus One Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 1991 Opus One Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (92AG, 92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Opus One's 1991 is a gorgeously rich, opaque ruby/purple-colored wine with a knock-out nose of smoke, cassis, vanilla, and a whiff of herbs and licorice. Full-bodied, with surprisingly supple, concentrated, chocolatey, cassis, and blackcurrant flavors that ooze across the palate, this voluptuously-textured example of Opus One is atypical in a vintage that produced so many backward wines. There is no question the wine possesses plenty of tannin, but it is admirably concealed by the copious quantities of concentrated fruit. (RP)" (02/1995)

Bid on this bottle of 2008 Abreu "Cappella" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (97RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Cappella bursts onto the palate with black cherries, smoke, menthol and licorice. This is a decidedly powerful, tannic Cappella that is going to need quite a bit of bottle age. Layers of fruit build effortlessly to the intense, deeply expressive finish. With time in the glass, the wine’s potential becomes quite evident. In 2008 Cappella is 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Petit Verdot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 4% Merlot. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2033+. 2005 Maybach Family "Materium" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Maybach Family "Materium" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Named after the super-luxury car of the same name, the extraordinary 2005 Materium (614 cases) has more in common with a first-growth like Chateau Margaux than a Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. It boasts a deep ruby/purple color along with a striking bouquet of blue and black fruits intermingled with acacia flowers, lead pencil shavings, and licorice, excellent fruit, medium to full body, substantial but sweet tannins, and compelling harmony among its acidity, alcohol, tannin, and extract. 2012 Schrader "Boars' View" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2012 Schrader "Boars' View" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (95RP). Boars' View is a new project with vineyard manager Ulises Valdez and winemaker Thomas Brown working together to produce a top estate-grown Pinot Noir. This vineyard was planted on a ridge, some miles south of the Aston estate vineyard, also above the usual level of summer fog from the ocean. Pinot clones include "heritage clones" from California sources: Calera, Mt. Eden and Swan. According to the winery, yields in this young vineyard were kept to under two tons per acre in 2012. The winery's note: "Exemplifying Thomas’ signature style, the 2012 Boars’ View Pinot Noir is a stunningly rich, textural wine with enormous depth and range of lush, fruit flavor. Coming from roughly equal parts Bien Nacido, Cumulus and Eleven Confessions vineyard, it spent just under 19 months in 48% used barrels (1-4 years old), 27% new French oak and the balance in concrete eggs. It sports a slightly darker color than the Chardonnay and offers up incredible notes of caramelized peaches, poached apples, white flowers and crushed rock that flow seamlessly to a full-bodied, decadent, yet classy and graceful feel on the palate. Finishes fully ripe and long." (09/2010)

1997 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Merlot
Bid on this 7-bottle lot of 1997 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Merlot (96RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Pahlmeyer's 1997 Merlot may be the finest Merlot ever produced in California. A profound blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, it offers gorgeous smoky, black cherry liqueur aromas mixed with melted fudge. The wine is unctuously-textured, super-concentrated, low in acidity, rich, and multilayered. This is a spectacular, hedonistic effort to drink over the next 15-20 years." (12/2000)

2004 Domaine Leflaive Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2004 Domaine Leflaive Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru (92BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "It seems as though it's no longer a matter of whether the '04 BBM is reduced but just how reduced and this latest bottle was seriously reduced, indeed to the point where it completely dominated the nose. Other bottles certainly have displayed some but not completely at the expense of the hallmark honeysuckle aromas. The tight, and still quite backward, vibrant medium-bodied plus flavors possess real richness, volume and more structure than I typically find yet the balance is absolutely impeccable. The vibrancy and energy here are most impressive but one has to begin to wonder if the reduction hasn't become permanent? If it has it won't make the wine unpleasant but it will deprive of us of the enjoyment of the nose. In view of this potential difficulty (especially since it appears to be the case with the '04 Clavoillons - see herein), I have lowered my score somew

2008 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Montrachet Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2008 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Montrachet Grand Cru ((94-97BH)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "**Don't Miss!** A riper if less elegant nose presents a broad range of yellow and white orchard fruits with ample floral, spice and citrus nuances that also are reflected by the massively endowed big-bodied, powerful and muscular flavors of imposing size and weight, all wrapped in a palate staining, chewy and hugely long finish. One expects Montrachet to be great and the '08 from Pierre-Yves Colin does not disappoint. " (06/2010)

Of the 2002 Sérafin Père et Fils Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru,Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar writes: "Deep red. Explosively rich, nuanced nose combines black cherry, mocha, coffee, game, mint, cola and smoke. Offers a rare silky sweetness on the palate, but with sappy fruit and terrific inner-palate energy. As sweet and fat as this is, it also has a strong underlying spine for aging. Finishes with superb length and subtle complexity. " (03/2005)

Aromas of flowers, blackberry and licorice. Subtle and complex. Wow. What a palate. Full, concentrated and rich, yet balanced and beautiful. Solid and sleepy. Still not giving all it has to give. 2007 Pierre Usseglio "Cuvée de Mon Aïeul" Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2007 Pierre Usseglio "Cuvée de Mon Aïeul" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (100RP, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 1,800 cases of the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee du Mon Aieul (100% tank-aged Grenache). It represents an awesome naked/virginal expression of Grenache from three vineyard parcels planted in sand, clay, and limestone soils. After tasting this wine on five separate occasions, I can state with certainty, it has the most saturated color of any Mon Aieul produced to date. Moreover, its perfume of blueberry liqueur, black raspberries, licorice, roasted meat juices, and lavender is incredible. Full-bodied power, a multilayered mouthfeel, tremendous purity, and awesome concentration put this wine in a class by itself. This sensational Chateauneuf du Pape is still very young, and 3-4 years of cellaring is required. It should be a modern day legend and last for nearly two decades. (RP)" (10/2009)

Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Highly perfumed nose combines grapefruit, flowers, mint, marzipan and hazelnut. The fattest, richest and densest of these 2000s to this point, with more spice showing from the 55% new oak component. Quite tightly wound on the back end and in need of at least a couple years of bottle aging." (06/2002)

1991 Graham's Vintage Port
Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 1991 Graham's Vintage Port (OWC - 94RP, 93WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Graham's 1991 Vintage Port gets my nod as the port of the vintage. While keeping in mind that Graham's aims for a sweeter-styled port, there is no doubting the opaque purple/black color, or the explosive nose of black fruits, licorice, spring flowers, and tar. Thick and full-bodied, with a satiny texture and a blockbuster, alcoholic finish, this is a top-notch vintage port. (RP)" (02/1995)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 Comte Armand Pommard 1er Cru "Clos des Epeneaux" (Monopole) (92AG, 92BH, 92ST, 91RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: " Bright medium red. Shy aromas of redcurrant, plum and spicy underbrush are less pristine than those of the young 2012. Supple and energetic, with dark cherry, raspberry and soil tones accented by minerals and peppery herbs. Nicely perfumed and savory wine with a restrained sweetness and very good verve. The dusty tannins should support mid-term aging." (03/2014)

Bid on this 1.5 liter 1-bottle lot of 1990 Alain Robert "Le Mesnil - Téte de Cuvée Réserve" Brut Champagne (1.5L) (93RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The superb 1990 Blanc de Blancs Reserve Le Mesnil is a current release from this small estate. Warm, toasty aromas emerge as the wine opens up in the glass. This is a full-bodied, intense Champagne with slightly oxidative flavors that add complexity to the rich, honeyed fruit. The wine possesses superb depth and richness, along with a finessed mousse and awesome balance. Readers who want to experience an aged yet fresh wine from the prestigious Le Mesnil vineyard will want to consider this beautifully-crafted Champagne. (AG)" (12/2008)

Sweet, lush and serious, with a layered texture to the redcurrant and leather flavors. Can't match the 2008 version for lift or acidity but this has the density and structure to require at least a couple years of cellaring. With a highly talented winemaker and low yields, the results are wines such as the Savigny-Les-Beaune Les Narbantons. It has strikingly deep, rich, berry fruit in evidence, medium to full body, a soft, voluptuous texture, and a super finish." (01/1990)
