1996 Krug Brut Champagne
Bid on this bottle of 1996 Krug Brut Champagne (100W&S, 99ST, 99WS, 98AG, 98RP). Wine & Spirits: "It's hard to imagine how a wine of this power can sustain perfect balance. What is now a more nonchalant intensity in the aroma was, in fact, too much to handle when we tasted this last year, as if the wine had no time for mere humans with their limited sense receptors. If you stop to taste ripe pear, ginger spice, apple blossom and butterscotch the wine leaves you lost in random flavor descriptors as it soars off into a vinous glow that lasts for minutes. This may well be the greatest vintage wine of Henri Krug's career (unless it is challenged by the 2002). It is impossible to predict how long this wine will thrive in bottle, though considering the current fine condition of the 1959 Krug, the first 50 years are a given." (12/2008)

2008 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2008 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 95JS, 95ST, 95W&S, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Monte Bello is striking. It is a decidedly muscular Monte Bello endowed with layers of dark fruit. Tobacco, mint, asphalt and crushed rocks develop in the glass, adding tons of complexity and finesse. A long, saline finish rounds things out beautifully. In 2008 the cold growing season stretched into October and the wine definitely has the feel of a cool vintage. The spring frost and the second year of drought conditions lowered yields significantly. Yields were just 1.25 tons per acre on average, but some of the older vineyards came in at less than 1 ton per acre. The balance of fruit, tannin and structure is simply extraordinary, but the wine needs time, most likely lots of it."

2012 Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon, RBS" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2012 Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon, RBS" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard RBS, which is also from Clone 337 but from different blocks on the Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard, saw oak with 90% new Darnajou and 10% new Taransaud. This wine seems slightly more expansive, shares the black ruby/purple color with all of it siblings, and has a boatload of crème de cassis, incense, licorice, graphite and vanilla along with plenty of spice box and forest floor. This is a killer, full-bodied, super-duper, opulent Cabernet Sauvignon to drink over the next 20 years. (RP)" (10/2014)

2000 Pichon-Baron, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 2000 Pichon-Baron, Pauillac (97RP, 94ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is one of the great wines of the vintage, and certainly a candidate for one of the finest wines made at this estate under the management of Christian Seeley and proprietor AXA. Showing incredibly well at two tastings of 2000s, the wine has a dense bluish/purple color and a beautiful nose of incense, melted asphalt, and creme de cassis as well as hints of new saddle leather and licorice. It is superbly concentrated and very pure, with excellent texture and opulence. The acidity seems low, the tannin high but well-integrated. This is a compelling 2000 that is just closing in on its window of maturity and should stay there for at least 20 or more years. Bravo! (RP)" (06/2010)

2006 Rhys Alesia "Falstaff Road Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Rhys Alesia "Falstaff Road Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (91ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium red. Spiced cherry and black raspberry on the nose, with cocoa powder and baking spices adding complexity. Fleshy and deep, offering sweet red and dark berry flavors, a supple texture and sexy Asian spices on the back end. The oak element blends smoothly with the berry fruit and adds spice to the long, sappy finish. This is already very seductive. (ST)" (05/2008)

This fresh, beautifully fruited, medium to full-bodied, rich wine should drink well for 10-12 years. Production from this four-acre vineyard is generally around 1,000 cases. (RP)" (12/2014)

1999 Margaux, Margaux
Bid on this bottle of 1999 Margaux, Margaux (94RP, 93ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The sexy, dark plum/purple-colored 1999 Margaux is already revealing complex aromatics. This surprisingly charming and round offering is reminiscent of a vintage such as 1985. Although neither a blockbuster nor a heavyweight, it grows in the mouth revealing tremendous length as well as purity. Administrator Paul Pontallier prefers it to the more austere 1998, as do I. This is an archetypical Chateau Margaux of richness, finesse, balance, and symmetry. It can be drunk young, but promises to age nicely for two decades. Extrapolating backwards, it would probably have something in common with the underrated 1962 Medocs. (RP)" (04/2002)

Already revealing evolved notes of balsam wood, spice box, licorice, and garrigue, this beautiful 2001 can be enjoyed over the next decade. (RP)" (08/2004)

1971 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1971 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine, which was a medium-weight, charming example in its youth, continues to develop well. Recent bottles have been the finest I have tasted of the 1971 Mouton-Rothschild. The color remains a deep dark garnet with some amber at the edge. The wine offers up a classic Pauillac nose of cedar, black currants, and lead pencil aromas. On the palate, it reveals a savory, sweet, cedary, currant flavor profile with good freshness, adequate acidity, and ripe tannin. (RP)" (01/1998)

1996 Dunn Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1996 Dunn Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP, 91ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The opaque blue/purple-colored 1996 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa boasts an exceptional nose of creme de cassis, minerals, and spice. It takes at least a decade for wines such as this to begin to reveal more identity and vintage character. The cassis/blackberry liqueur-like fruit are present, as are mouthsearing levels of tannin and impressive extract. This blockbuster should be at its peak between 2010-2040. If Godzilla drank California Cabernet Sauvignon, would there be any doubt as to what choice it would be? Anyone who has regularly tasted Randy Dunn's Cabernet Sauvignons (first produced in 1979) realizes several things. They all possess the following characteristics: (1) remarkable color and richness, (2) massive personalities with huge tannic structures, (3) gorgeous purity and unreal aging potential. Last year I reported on a tasting where all of Dunn's top wines ba

Of the 2005 Sine Qua Non "Atlantis Fe203-3e" Roussanne (375ml),Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2005 Atlantis Fe 203-3e Roussanne Vin de Paille is a 100% Roussanne cuvee possessing 352 grams of residual sugar per liter. While it is a stunning effort, when tasted next to the two Mr. K. whites, it comes in slightly below those two out-of-this-world offerings. Incredible aromas of honeysuckle and marmalade are classic late-harvest Roussanne, and the wine’s sweet style is beautifully balanced by terrific acidity (12.5 grams of acid per liter). Quite full, rich and powerful, with a distinctly tactile quality to the saline iodine and mineral flavors. This ripe, brooding wine finishes with inexorable persistence. 1996 La Dominique, St-Emilion
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1996 La Dominique, St-Emilion. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This smoky, lavishly-oaked wine reveals an impressive dark ruby/purple color. The nose offers up plenty of pain grille along with black cherries, raspberries, and dried herbs and smoke. The wine provides sweet fruit on the attack, low acidity, medium body, and a nicely-textured finish with fat/glycerin in evidence. Prior to bottling, I noted some astringency and awkward tannin, but neither were noticeable on the three separate occasions I had the wine out of bottle. (RP)" (04/1999)

It possesses a youthful dense purple color along with an explosive nose of spring flowers, black raspberries and black currants, a touch of graphite, but no evidence of oak. The wine boasts extraordinary opulence and complexity, multiple dimensions, endless depth and richness, and perfect balance. This compelling 2004 is one of the superstars of the vintage. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Yields of 28-30 hectoliters per hectare are among the lowest in St.-Emilion, which no doubt accounts for the wine's explosive richness. The final blend, 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Cabernet Franc, was bottled unfined and unfiltered after 18 months in 100% new oak, with aging on the lees. It boasts a saturated plum/purple color in addition to an exotic bouquet of Asian spices, plum liqueur, prunes, and blackberries. Dense ruby/purple in color with a glorious nose of melted licorice, lavender, barbecue smoke, black currants, and graphite, the wine is tannic, classically structured with an opaque ruby/purple color, beautiful definition, and a 1996-ish personality. Nevertheless, this wine is loaded with potential. The wine exhibits a saturated black ruby/purple color, a superb nose of blackberries, relatively high tannin, a full body, and a closed, dense, chewy constitution. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2020. 1992 Robert Mondavi "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1992 Robert Mondavi "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "If you missed out on Robert Mondavi's 1991 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve, try to find a few bottles of the sumptuously rich, decadent, showy 1992 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve that is about to be released. It is a sweeter, riper, more unctuously-styled Cabernet. While it may lack some of the classicism of the 1991 Reserve, it is a super-rich, full-bodied, flamboyant, unctuously-textured wine that should drink well for 20+ years." (10/1995)

2005 Rudd "Crossroads" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Rudd "Crossroads" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon. Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright ruby-red. Cassis, black cherry, tar and licorice on the nose. Supple and minty on entry, then a bit tough in the middle, with modest complexity. Doesn't quite capture the potential sweetness of the vintage. Finishes with substantial dusty tannins and a medicinal quality. " (05/2008)

2001 Salvioni "Cerbaiola" Brunello di Montalcino
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2001 Salvioni "Cerbaiola" Brunello di Montalcino (95RP, 92WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Powerful and authoritative, Salvioni’s deeply-colored 2001 Brunello di Montalcino is unquestionably one of the vintage’s top wines. It displays a tightly wound core of sweet dark fruit, marrying notable concentration with classic structure on a frame of great expansiveness and length. The 2001 Brunello saw a full four years of cask, considered long by today’s standards, yet it boasts incredible freshness, richness and vibrancy. This magical, unique Brunello of exquisite pedigree will be at its best in another few years and it should offer rewarding drinking to at least age 20. A great effort. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2021. (AG)" (12/2006)

Lively aromas of boysenberry, cassis, bitter chocolate, violet and mint. Juicy, firm and bright for the vintage, with none of the roasted character shown by so many '96 cabernets. Alluring sweetness in the middle palate. Finishes with firm but graceful tannins." (05/1999)

1993 Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1993 Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "In my October tasting both 1993 Cabernets were more tannic and closed than the 1992s. The 1993 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is one of the more tannic and backward wines I have tasted from Silver Oak. Now that it has been bottled, it has closed down, displaying far less lushness and obvious concentration than it did last year. The color remains a healthy dark ruby/purple, and the nose offers earthy, toasty new oak, and sweet black fruit aromas. Tight, yet powerful and rich, this full-bodied, dense, atypically backward Cabernet Sauvignon does not possess Silver Oak's usual approachability and precociousness. Nevertheless, this wine has plenty of merit. It should drink well after 3-5 years of cellaring, and last for 15+ years." (12/1996)

2001 Vineyard 29 "Aida Estate" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2001 Vineyard 29 "Aida Estate" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend ((89-90ST)). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good ruby-red. Exotic floral notes and wild spices lift the aromas of currant, raspberry, minerals and loam. Lush, dense and minerally, with complex flavors of redcurrant, hot stones, tobacco, chocolate and roast coffee. Like the 2000, this communicates a distinctly warm-site character. Finishes with ripe, dense, substantial tannins." (05/2003)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2004 Troplong Mondot, St-Emilion (92W&S, 90WS, 89RP). Wine & Spirits: "At the Union des Grands Crus tasting in 2005, this was elegant red ambrosia; it showed beautifully sweet and ripe at our recent tasting in New York. A gracious pillow of merlot with mineral tannins to make it mouthwatering and lengthen the finish, this only gets better with air. Oak adds to the elegance of the wine and it seems destined to drink well over the course of the next ten years or more. The château was upgraded to Premier Grand Cru Classé status in 2006." 1966 Montrose, St-Estèphe
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1966 Montrose, St-Estèphe. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1966 is still dark ruby with a peppery, very spice, yet tight, relatively closed bouquet. The wine is austere and tough on the palate, with good fruit and firm, rough tannins. Comparatively, it is not as massive or as rich as the 1970, 1964, or 1961, but is still backward and austere. Will the fruit hold up to the tannins? Anticipated maturity: Now-2005. Last tasted, 1/90." (01/1998)

1966 Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Pauillac
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1966 Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Pauillac. In his book "Vintage Wine," critic Michael Broadbent wrote of the 1966 Grand-Puy-Lacoste: "This always is a long-distance runner, and a château whose wine I now buy every vintage. My first taste of the '66 was a pleasant, piquant Justerini & Brooks' bottling in 1971. At a Decanter tasting in 1979, softer than Ducru; a well-developed, characteristically sinewy classic in the mid-1980s. Last tasted April 1993. **** and still developing."

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Whitehall Lane "Leonardini Family Selection" Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon. Wine Enthusiast: "Made for the long haul, this 100% Cab was fermented in 100% new French oak. Right now, it’s a hard, tannic wine, with little to relieve the astringency. The dominant flavors are of primary fruit black currants and sweet, charred wood ... it’s a wine that could improve dramatically over the years." (04/2009)

Of the 2006 Foxen "Toasted Rope" Santa Ynez Valley Syrah,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Even more brilliant is the Cote Rotie look-alike, the 2006 Syrah Toasted Rope. A blend of 85% Syrah and a whopping 15% Viognier (an hommage to Guigal’s Cote Rotie La Mouline?), it reveals exotic lychee nut and honeysuckle characteristics interwoven with notions of sweet cassis, kirsch, and licorice. Medium to full-bodied with fabulous concentration, a velvety, voluptuous texture, and superb length, this is an amazing effort from the Santa Ynez Valley. Anticipated maturity: now-2015." (06/2008)
