2009 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru "Vaudésir" (OWC)
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru "Vaudésir" (OWC - 94BH, 93RP, 91ST) in original wood. Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A mildly exotic and atypically reticent nose that is ripe yet airy showcases aromas of orange peel, peach and hints of roasted nut and iodine, before leading to rich, even opulent medium plus weight flavors that are delicious, round and strikingly persistent on the mouth coating and moderately austere finish. This has really come together since I last saw it and like the Bougros, this is quite a bit more refined than I'm used to seeing. An excellent example." (10/2011)

Full body, with velvety tannins and juicy fruit. Tannic now, but will soften with age. Lots going on here. Very close to the superb 2008. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. 2010 Biondi-Santi (Tenuta Greppo) Rosso di Montalcino
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Biondi-Santi (Tenuta Greppo) Rosso di Montalcino (91RP, 89AG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Rosso di Montalcino opens to a brilliant ruby color and tightly focused aromas of forest berry, white almond, cola, bramble and anisette. It exhibits a stunning sense of lightness and buoyancy. Of course, that characteristic note of acidic freshness and menthol makes for a resounding finish and is testament of the enormous quality of fruit in 2010. Drink: 2014-2022. " (02/2014)

2010 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2010 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (97AG, 96ST, 96W&S, 91RP, 90CG). Antonio Galloni: "Firm yet polished tannins provide the backbone for the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Monte Bello. As impressive as it has always been, the 2010 is a structured, powerful wine that is likely to require considerable bottle age to show the full breadth of its pedigree. Black cherry, plum, cassis and graphite notes meld into the intense, mineral-infused finish. Dramatic and towering in style. The late harvest stretched into early November, resulting in a Monte Bello with a decidedly dark profile. The blend is 74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc. Personally, I can't wait to own the 2010." (07/2013)

2006 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2006 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (98WE, 96RP, 95ST, 94WS). Wine Enthusiast: "The 2006 flagship Cabernet from Quilceda Creek is a massive wine that has just begun to emerge from its slumber. When first released the wine seemed to have entered a dumb phase, but six months later it responds to decanting and shows its muscle. Fruit flavors of black, brandied cherries, cassis and bourbon-soaked plums are wrapped in generous, layered oak. The wine is dusty, smoky, laced with streaks of licorice and brightened with sharp acids. It continues to expand further in the glass, adding flesh and spice to its frame, with a cedar/cigar box finish. " (03/2010)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 96CG, 96WS, 95JS, 94ST, 94WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Aged 24 months in new French oak, this infant 2007 exhibits an inky/purple color along with notes of graphite, spring flowers and smoky oak. This full-bodied, classic Insignia reveals fabulous depth, ripeness, texture, viscosity and richness. Still young and unformed, it should evolve for 25 or more years. Perhaps I should just go ahead and give this 2007 a three-digit score as it is a profoundly great Cabernet Sauvignon-based effort. The production was 13,500 cases of this 100% estate fruit blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot. The alcohol came in at 14.5%. The growing season was nearly ideal, with early bud break, generous flowering, a bountiful crop size, and summer weather that was warm and dry with no significant heat spikes. Allen Meadows - Burghound: " A naturally spicy, fresh and elegant nose of dark pinot fruit and violets merges into exceptionally pure medium-bodied flavors that possess first rate detail on the clean and harmonious finish. This is a wine of seamless harmony, indeed this is Zen-like in its delivery." (04/2008)

2007 Domenico Clerico "Ciabot Mentin" Barolo
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Domenico Clerico "Ciabot Mentin" Barolo (98RP, 95JS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Barolo Ciabot Mentin is one of the greatest wines I have ever tasted at this address. Deep, sensual layers of fruit flow from the glass as this full-throttle, intense Barolo reveals its profound, breathtaking personality. The 2007 shows tons of Ginestra nuance, but with extra dimensions to the fruit that literally covers every nook and cranny of the palate. Tasting this next to the 2006 is quite a comparison, as both wines are fabulous. Readers who can should be sure to own bottles of both. A side-by-side comparison is sure to be fascinating as the wines develop over the coming years. Astute readers will note the slight name change here, which is the result of new regulations that require the use of the historic vineyard name, in this case Ginestra, or a proprietary name. Call me nostalgic, but it is sad to see one of the iconic labels in Barolo disappea

Of the 1998 Veritas "Hanisch" Barossa Shiraz,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "With both the 1996 and 1998 Shiraz Hanisch Vineyard incredible examples of Barossa Shiraz. Both are dense and full-bodied with soaring aromas of black fruits, damp earth, camphor, pepper, and asphalt. The 1996 is slightly more structured and tannic, and the 1998 is more perfectly formed with a seamless integration of acidity, tannin, alcohol, and wood (the latter component has completely disappeared at age eleven)." 2002 Palmer, Margaux
Bid on this bottle of 2002 Palmer, Margaux (94RP, 91WS, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A successful wine for the vintage, this blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, and 8% Petit Verdot boasts complex notes of menthol, black currants, plums, licorice, and a hint of cappuccino in its stunning aromatics. Dense, medium to full-bodied, with high levels of tannin in a big, full-bodied style (much in the spirit of such classic Bordeaux vintages as 1966, 1986, and 1996), this wine possesses superb purity and serious length, but should be purchased only by those with considerable patience and a good, cold cellar, since it will need plenty of time. 2005 Domaine Leflaive Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Pucelles"
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine Leflaive Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Pucelles" (96W&S, 93BH, 93WS, 92ST). Wine & Spirits: "The domaine owns three parcels (7.56 acres) of Les Pucelles, which borders Bâtard-Montrachet and Bienvenues- Bâtard-Montrachet. More than half of it was planted prior to 1969, the oldest vines dating to 1954. This is both subtler and more explosive than Clavoillon, its pear and honeysuckle perfume recalling the work of the bees among the vines. That classical buzz infuses the architectural power of the wine, a grand mineral structure embedded in the fruit itself. The beautiful scent and luscious texture should be reaching their peak eight to ten years from the vintage." (12/2007)

Wine Spectator: "Intense aromas of violets, berries and spices follow through to a full-bodied palate, with layers of supersilky tannins and a long, long finish. Very classic in style. All in elegance and length. I like it better than the 2000. Best after 2009." (03/2004)

2008 Abreu "Thorevilos" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2008 Abreu "Thorevilos" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As outstanding as all the Abreu wines are, if I had to choose one that stands apart from the others it would be Thorevilos. The 2008 Thorevilos is the most complete and deeply satisfying of Abreu’s 2008s because the balance of fruit and structure is so impeccable. The 2008 literally explodes onto the palate with masses of dark fruit, tar, licorice and smoke. There is a fleshiness and depth of the fruit here that separates the Thorevilos from the other 2008s. Layers of fruit build towards the massive, masculine finish. In 2008 Thorevilos is 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Cabernet Franc and 15% Petit Verdot. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2038. (AG)" (12/2011)

Quintessential Cabernet aromas of blackcurrant, black cherry, dark chocolate, licorice, black olive, mint and earth, sweetened by some roasted oak tones. Dense, supple and seamless; much more concentrated than the basic Napa Valley bottling but also more pliant from the outset, even if it will need a good six to eight years of cellaring. 1994 Dunn Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1994 Dunn Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1994s might be ready to drink within 10-15 years. It is hard to believe these wines spend 30 months in oak casks before bottling as they are incredibly unevolved and backward when released. The 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa reveals an opaque purple color, followed by a sweet, rich, black currant and creme de cassis-scented nose with no evidence of oak. This fruit bomb displays considerable breadth and expansiveness on the palate, in essence revealing only two dimensions - fruit and tannin. It is slightly softer and more precocious than the 1995 and 1996, so perhaps it will only need 10, rather than 15 years of cellaring. This immensely impressive Cabernet is a candidate for 20-30 years of cellaring. " (12/1997)

Of the 2003 Alban "Lorraine" Edna Valley Syrah,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The limited production, well-structured, black/purple-tinged 2003 Syrah Lorraine Vineyard reveals oak along with tremendous amounts of creme de cassis-like characteristics. Dense, full-bodied, and rich with superb acidity, high, but well-integrated tannin, and a seamless finish that lasts over 60 seconds, this stunning effort is the finest Lorraine Syrah I have tasted. 1995 Flora Springs "Hillside Reserve" Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1995 Flora Springs "Hillside Reserve" Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon (92RP, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Readers looking for blockbuster Cabernet Sauvignon offerings should check out the 1995 and 1996 Hillside Reserve Cabernets from Flora Springs. The winery tends to give this wine 12 months aging in old oak barrels. At the conclusion of that period, the wines are moved into 100% new oak for 10 months. At that point they are racked into tank and bottled unfiltered. This is not dissimilar to how Caymus handles its Special Selection Cabernet Sauvignon. Sadly, only about 800 cases of these exquisite Cabernets are produced. The 1995 Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Reserve is a backward, tannic wine with an opaque purple color, and copious quantities of sweet black currant fruit, cedar, and spice. Muscular, rich, and full-bodied, with sweet tannin, this is a layered, concentrated, unevolved and youthful Cabernet Sauvignon that requires 4-5 years of cellaring

2000 La Fleur De Gay, Pomerol
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 La Fleur De Gay, Pomerol (94RP, (91-93ST), 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I have always thought this was the best Fleur de Gay since the 1989 and 1990, and it showed extremely well in the 2000 horizontal tastings. Dense ruby/purple, with notes of melted caramel and mocha, along with raspberry and blueberry, the wine has that endearing combination of elegance and power. Layered and multi-dimensional, with silky, sweet tannins, the wine seems to have hit full maturity, where it should last for another 20 or more years. This is a beautiful wine. (RP)" (06/2010)

1996 Lagrange, St-Julien
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1996 Lagrange, St-Julien (93ST, 91WS, 90RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright medium ruby. Highly complex aromas of blackberry, violet pastille, eucalyptus, leather and game. Wonderfully sweet but with terrific grip, even a touch of youthful austerity. Very classy, subtle wine with terrific inner-mouth energy. Builds very slowly on the back half, finishing with noble, fine-grained tannins and terrific grip. This makes the 1995 seem almost cooked by comparison. Still needs at least five or six years of cellaring. 'We always had unusual tastes in this wine, like eucalyptus and menthol, due to the cool September nights,' noted Ducasse. 93(+?) points." (09/2004)

Wine Spectator: " *#6 on the Top 100 Wines of 2007* Intense aromas of black licorice, berries and currants follow through to a full-bodied palate, with lots of velvety tannins and a long, caressing finish. Builds on the palate. Reminds me of the 1996 Las Cases. May be better." (03/2005)

Wine Enthusiast: " ** Editors' Choice ** A wonderfully firm, concentrated wine that walks a fine, balanced line between richness and poised structure. It is classic in the best sense, showing all the shape of a fine Bordeaux, while adding the extra dimension of the freshest of black fruits, complexity from a few hints of wood, and a dark, brooding, long-lasting aftertaste." 2003 Larkmead "LMV Salon" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2003 Larkmead "LMV Salon" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (96RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2003 LMV Salon is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc, 6% Malbec, 5% Petit Verdot and 4% Merlot. It takes its name from the iconic San Francisco socialite, Lillie Hitchcock Coit, who established a “salon” at Larkmead. This wine cuts an even broader, more expansive flavor profile across the palate, offering gorgeous notes of creme de cassis, background oak and licorice, and hints of lead pencil shavings and spring flowers. Strikingly complex, this stunning wine reveals a freshness and vivacity that go against the general reputation of this vintage. It is a crunchy, juicy effort with 14.7% alcohol, although the latter component is not the least bit noticeable. Slightly more evolved than the basic Cabernet Sauvignon, this beauty is accessible now, so there is no reason to delay your pleasure. It should be strutting its stuff for 15-20 years.

Ineffable, deep aromas of wild strawberry, blackberry, espresso, underbrush and sweet oak. Densely packed and sweet, with strong minerality contributing to the impression of extract. 2003 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2003 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (95RP, 94JS, 94W&S, 94WE, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This sexy, evolved, dense ruby/purple-tinged 2003 reveals notes of smoke, herbs, black currant jam, licorice and graphite. Full-bodied, opulent and flamboyant, it is another example of a stunning 2003 northern Medoc that can be drunk now or cellared for 10-15 more years. This irregular vintage hit its zenith in the northern Medoc and in a handful of limestone terroirs in St.-Emilion. In contrast, other areas, particularly Pomerol, Graves and the sandy, gravelly soils of St.-Emilion, experienced difficulties in 2003." (08/2011)

1996 Monbousquet, St-Emilion
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1996 Monbousquet, St-Emilion (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I extend my congratulations and accolades to the relatively young new proprietor of Monbousquet, Gerard Perse...he has reduced yields to under 30 hectoliters per hectare, and is doing everything to ensure a natural expression of his vineyards' terroirs...The 1996 Monbousquet is an outstanding effort. The wine is slightly tannic, but it exhibits an exotic nose of kirsch liqueur, cassis, roasted herbs, espresso, and mocha. It possesses excellent texture, impressive depth and richness, and sweet toasty oak. The saturated dark ruby/purple color suggests a dense wine. The finish is both long and well-delineated, with moderate tannin. This beautifully-etched Monbousquet will take several years to come around. Anticipated maturity: 2002-2017." (04/1999)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2004 Mitolo "GAM" Shiraz McLaren Vale South Australia (97RP, 94JH, 92WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Aged 18 months in primarily French oak, the 2004 Shiraz G.A.M. is an exceptional example of a precise yet full-flavored, concentrated Shiraz. Its gorgeous perfume of blueberries, blackberries, camphor, licorice, and pain grille is followed by an inky/blue/purple-colored wine offering superb purity, full-bodied richness, and gorgeous depth as well as texture. This fabulous effort is another example of Ben Glaetzer’s brilliant talents. It should drink well for 15 years. (RP)" (10/2005)
